8:41 a.m.: larceny, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, a school resource officer reports he was advised of the theft of cash from a pupil’s wallet, the SRO reports a boy said that he found $20 missing from a wallet he left in a gym locker after a friend asked to use his cell phone which had also been in the locker, the boy said that the next day in gym class he left his wallet was in his jacket which he left on a chair and observed the same friend sitting nearby, the boy said that he subsequently discovered $100 to be missing from the wallet, the SRO reports an administrator searched the suspect but did not find the money, the case remains under investigation;
9:05 a.m.: identity fraud, Holyoke Road, a resident came to the station to complain that her personal information was used without her knowledge and consent, the responding officer reports the woman said that she found her phone service had been changed after she received a call from a person in California who claimed to represent AT+T ;
1:02 p.m.: narcotics violation, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, a school resource officer reports he was advised that a pupil was found to be in possession of marijuana, the SRO reports he was told that the girl appeared to be under the influence of something and was examined by the school nurse, the girl was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and was suspended from school;
1:15 p.m.: suspicious item, Sackett Road, an off-duty officer reports he was advised of a champagne bottle in the roadway which is feared to be a bottle bomb, the responding officer reports the bottle was properly disposed of;
2:20 p.m.: suspicious person, West School Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered a group of youths and confiscated a knife;
3:03 p.m.: suspicious activity, Park Square, an officer responding to a report of youths riding skateboards at Park Square reports that while he was talking to the boys the mother of one of them was passing and stopped, when advised of the issue the mother took both boys’ skateboards;
7:59 p.m.: fire, Warfield Drive, a caller reports that a candle in her living room started a fire, dual response dispatched, the responding officer reports the woman said that a candle ignited a basket of seasonal decorations and she took the basket outside, the responding firefighters report the fire was extinguished prior to their arrival, the house was ventilated to remove smoke;
10:19 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Montgomery Road, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to be operated by a person with a suspended license, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
10:44 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Colonial Pine Acres, 50 Southampton Road, a patrol officer reports registration plates were seized from a parked vehicle and transported to the station.
