7:05 a.m.: illegal dumping, East Bartlett Street, a caller reports furniture has been deposited atop snowbanks on East Bartlett Street, the DPW was notified;
8:40 a.m.: abandoned 911 call, Riverbend Trailer Park, 189 Springfield Road, an officer responding to an open line 911 call reports that the residents had been involved in an argument, a routine check revealed that the man was the subject of an outstanding warrant issued in 2012 by Springfield District Court, Eric J. Williams, 43, of 189 Springfield Road, was arrested on the warrant;
9:07 a.m.: breaking and entering, Hopkins Road, a resident came to the station overnight to report her vehicle was broken into overnight, the responding officer reports the caller said that she parked her car about 10:30 p.m. and in the morning looked out to see a window of the car had been smashed and its contents strewn about outside, the woman said that her medications and a 56-inch television were stolen;
9:10 a.m.: odor of gas, Beveridge Boulevard, a caller reports a strong smell of gas in both sides of a duplex house, dual response dispatched, the house was evacuated, the responding firefighters report that the odor appeared to be emanating from a gas stove but was not so concentrated as to pose a danger, the G&E was notified and responded;
11:10 a.m.: Main Street, a caller complains of inadequately treated sidewalks adjacent to nearby businesses, the responding officer reports he spoke with the manager of the primary business in the group who said that the corporation owns the buildings but he is not sure which part of the corporate management is responsible for the sidewalks, the manager said that he will investigate that responsibility and in the meantime will have employees treat the sidewalks as best they can;
11:25 a.m.: animal complaint, West Silver Street, an animal control officer reports a resident surrendered two dog, the dogs were transported to a pet care facility to be treated for fleas, the resident subsequently surrendered another dog at the municipal animal shelter;
12:46 p.m.: officer wanted, Riverbend Condos, 555 Russell Road, a caller referenced a previous call regarding entry to her apartment and reports that a rear door was found to be unlocked, the responding officer reports the caller said multiple doors were found to be unlocked the day before and said that she is certain that she subsequently locked the door recently found to be unlocked, the officer noted that there were no footprints in the snow or signs of forcible entry, the officer observed money and small electronics in plain sight which had not been disturbed, the officer advised the tenants to contact the management company to ensure that no management representatives had entered the apartment and to ask them to change the locks;
1:45 p.m.: suspicious person, Alexander Place, a patrol officer was advised that a man who routinely walks his dog in the area has again trespassed on private property, the officer reports he spoke with the resident of the property where the man had been seen and from which he has been barred by a ‘No trespassing’ order, the resident declined to pursue criminal charges but asked that the incident be documented;
3:11 p.m.: larceny, Noble Hospital, 115 W. Silver St., a resident came to the station to report property was stolen from her purse, the responding officer reports that the woman said that sometime over the previous five days a card holder containing cash, her driver’s license and other documents was stolen from her purse while she was at the hospital;
4:50 p.m.: traffic complaint, Morgan Avenue, a caller reports she observed a vehicle swerving across the roadway, the reporting party called again when she saw that the vehicle parked in a Morgan Avenue driveway, the officer reports that he spoke with the operator who showed no signs of intoxication, the man refused to provide the officer identification when asked saying that he had done nothing wrong and closed the door when the officer attempted to explain why he was asking, the officer reports a check of the vehicle’s registration and Registry of Motor Vehicles records showed the man to be the owner of the van he had been operating and another vehicle in the driveway;
6:43 p.m.: assist resident, Shaker Road, a resident came to the station to request an escort as he gathers property at the house he has vacated during his ongoing divorce process, the responding officer reports that the man’s estranged wife was not at home when they arrived but he nonetheless stood by for a short time while the man gathered some clothing and bedding;
10:46 p.m.: officer wanted, East Mountain Road, multiple callers report concern for a woman seen walking in the roadway with two bags, the responding officer reports he found a Huntington woman who was not dressed for the weather and displayed the classic symptoms of alcohol intoxication, the officer reports he provide the woman a courtesy transport to a Rosedell Drive address where a sober person accepted custody of her.
