8:44 a.m.: fraud, Henry’s Trailer Park , 868 Southampton Road, a resident came to the station to report her former boyfriend has opened credit accounts in her name, the responding officer reports that the woman said that her boyfriend had not allowed her to handle the mail but since he has been incarcerated she has discovered that two charge accounts have been opened in her name, the woman said that both accounts are delinquent and she has discovered that a judgment has been levied against her in court for one of the accounts;
9:42 a.m.: found property, North Road at Old Stage Road, a patrol officer reports a tree worker surrendered a cell phone found on North Road, the phone was transported to the station for safe keeping;
9:48 a.m.: recovered motor vehicle, Springfield Road, a caller from a truck rental agency reports a stolen truck has been found at the business, the responding officer reports a manager said that an unexpected truck was found in the agency’s yard, the truck had been reported to have been stolen from an affiliated truck rental agency in Brighton;
12:10 p.m.: narcotics violation, Parker Ave., a caller reports his mother found marijuana in his sister’s possession, the responding officer reports he spoke with the caller’s mother who showed him a small bag containing green leafy material believed to be marijuana and two homemade smoking devices, the officer spoke with the 15-year-old girl who acknowledged that she has been smoking marijuana for about a year, a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
2:01 p.m.: burglary, General Shepard Apartments, a caller reports a larceny for her home, the responding officer reports the woman said that a relative observed a known party enter the woman’s bedroom while she was sleeping and the woman subsequently found a tablet computer to be missing, the woman told the officer that she confronted the man and he returned the device, the woman said that she then discovered a second device to be missing but the man denied knowledge of it, the officer reports the man said that he took the tablet in order to remove a nude photo of his daughter stored on it but was not responsible for the second missing device, the woman said that no nude photos of the man’s daughter had been stored on the device;
6:04 p.m.: officer wanted, Southwick Road, a caller requests an officer to assist with a dispute with his wife, the responding officer reports the man said that after a verbal altercation with his estranged wife he left the area with his children in his vehicle and his wife followed, the man said that the woman intentionally rammed the mini-van he was operating with a Jeep, the woman had left the area and when the officer went to her address the vehicle was found to be warm although there were no signs of life at the house, the officer reports there was no response when he knocked repeatedly and when he contacted the male party he gave his permission to effect a forcible entry, the woman was found on her bed and said that she had been asleep and had not heard the officer knocking, the woman denied an altercation with her husband occurred and denied ramming his vehicle, the officer reports damage to the Jeep was consistent with the man’s account and the woman’s account was variable and inconsistent, criminal complaints for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and negligent operation of a motor vehicle were filed, the Department of Children and Families was notified;
6:14 p.m.: traffic complaint, Broadway, a caller reports her vehicle struck a pothole and blew out a tire as did a following vehicle, a second caller made a similar complaint, the responding officer reports that ultimately six motorists were disabled by the pothole and urged that a DPW crew be dispatched immediately, a DPW supervisor was advised and a crew was dispatched;
6:32 p.m.: larceny, Sylvan Drive, a caller reports jewelry was stolen during an open house at her home, the responding officer reports the caller said that she is in the process of selling her house and her realtor hosted an open house, the woman said that during the open house a gold and diamond ring valued at about $1,000 was stolen along with costume jewelry, the case was referred to the detective bureau;
10:31 p.m.: fire, Honey Pot Road, a caller reports a chimney fire, the responding firefighters report no flames were seen upon their arrival but the resident said flames had been seen earlier, the firefighters report a small amount of smoldering creosote was removed from the chimney and the owner was advised to have the chimney cleaned.
