12:05 a.m.: incapacitated person, Mechanic Street, a patrol officer reports that he observed a male party running in the middle of the road during heavy snow and avoided contact, the officer told the man to get out of the roadway and he made an obscene response and kept running, the man was stopped and found to be too intoxicated to care for himself in the weather conditions, the man was placed in protective custody;
1:16 a.m.: disturbance, Mechanic Street, a caller reports a college aged party is creating a disturbance and persons are yelling and pushing each other, the responding officer reports a door to the residence was found lying in the snow and there was no response at the open door, the officer announced his presence and entered, the officer found two male parties holding a third down on a bed but all agreed that they were just wrestling, the tenants said the door has been off its hinges for more than a month, the officer noted a multitude of empty and broken alcohol bottles and containers as well as DPW signs on the walls, the officer also noted building code violations, the three tenants were advised that criminal complaints for disturbing the peace and receiving stolen property would be filed, the DPW signs were seized;
7:18 a.m.: fire, Pochassic Road at Pinewood Lane, a caller reports his plow truck burst into flames, the responding officer reports he was plowing when his truck stalled, the man said when he tried to restart the truck he found smoke and flames coming from under the hood, the responding firefighters report the fire was extinguished and the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
10:37 a.m.: assist citizen, Main Street, a caller reports being locked out of his vehicle at the pumps of a gas station, the responding firefighters report entry was gained;
1:59 p.m.: larceny, Southwick Road, a caller from a Southwick Road gas station reports a customer left without making payment, the responding officer reports the vehicle had left the area, the officer noted that two previous similar calls were found to have been initiated by equipment failure and no larcenies had occurred;
2:15 p.m.; assist citizen, a Linda Drive, a caller reports he has locked his keys along with medication in his vehicle, the responding firefighters report entry was gained;
3:11 p.m.; assist citizen, a Mechanic Street, a caller reports he has locked his keys inside his running vehicle, the responding firefighters report entry was gained;
4:47 p.m.: larceny, Meadow Street, a resident came to the station to report his car was stolen, the responding officer reports the man said that when he went to visit his sick daughter he saw that the vehicle he provides for her use was not at the residence, the man said he daughter told him that she had allowed a person she met recently to spend the night at her residence because of the difficult travel conditions and when she awoke he was gone and her keys were no longer in her purse;
5:45 p.m.: fire, Elizabeth Avenue a caller reports smoke and flames are coming from his pickup truck, the responding firefighters report no fire or signs of fire were found;
6:31 p.m.: harassment, Lady Slipper Circle, a resident came to the station to complain that a classmate of his daughter burned her shirt and posted a photo of the burning shirt on a web site, the responding officer reports the complainant said that a classmate had a shirt for his daughter’s cheerleading uniform and when she asked for its return the other girl burned it and posted a picture on an internet site, the officer spoke with the suspect who agreed to make restitution to avoid criminal charges but no payment was received by the agreed deadline.
