1:15 p.m.: animal complaint Pauline Lane, a resident came to the Westfield Animal Shelter to surrender a female white and brown pointed Siamese type cat which he said has been seen near his house off and on for about a month;
3:56 a.m.: accident, East Silver Street, a caller reports a vehicle in his driveway may have been involved in an accident and a occupant of the vehicle appears to be calling for help, dual response dispatched, the responding officer reports a witness said that he saw the operator of the car pull a person from the passenger seat into the driver’s seat before fleeing the area, the officer reports the person still with the vehicle (who is the owner of the car) said that he gave a person he just met a ride and offered only a cursory description of the man who could not be found, the vehicle owner was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital;
6:04 p.m.: larceny, Maria Drive, a resident came to the station to complain that several of his checks were stolen and subsequently cashed, the responding officer reports transient persons are often offered refuge in the victim’s home and one is suspected of stealing the checks.
