12:26 a.m.: suspicious activity, Southwood Acres, 342 Southwick Road, a caller reports person in a parked vehicle may be smoking marijuana, the responding officer reports “a cloud of marijuana smoke came bellowing out” when a window of the vehicle was opened, one person surrendered a small amount of marijuana and a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
9:39 a.m.: larceny, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, 33 Smith Ave., a school resource officer reports while investigating a previous locker room larceny a basketball coach reported that two pairs of basketball training glasses which were last known to be in the locker room office have been found to be missing;
10:05 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Court Street at Chestnut Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to be unregistered, the officer reports the car was found to be bearing plates which had been issued to another vehicle and the plates were seized, the car was towed to the police impound yard, the operator was provided a courtesy transport to a medical appointment;
10:33 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Kellogg Street, a code enforcement officer reports a caller complained of unshoveled sidewalks, the officer reports he spoke with a representative of a mortgage company in control of a property and advised her of the relevant city ordinance, the woman said that she would address the issue, the officer subsequently spoke with or left notices for three other Kellogg Street residents, two Belmont Street residents, two Franklin Street residents and businesses on Elm and School streets about the same issue;
10:33 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Lincoln Street, a code enforcement officer reports a caller complained of an unshoveled sidewalk, the officer reports he spoke with a relative of the property owner who agreed to advise the owner;
11:25 a.m.: city ordinance violation, King Street, a community policing officer reports he advised a resident about sidewalk maintenance;
3:46 p.m.: assist resident, Phelps Avenue, a resident called to request assistance gathering property at a former address, the responding officer reports that nobody was at home and the man was advised not to return to the address;
4:35 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Union Street, a patrol officer reports that while monitoring traffic he encountered a vehicle with registration revoked for lack of insurance, the plates were seized;
9:38 p.m.: lost property, East main Street, a resident reports via the online reporting option that his wallet was lost, the online report states that the victim believes that the wallet (which contained credit and identification documents) was stolen from a shopping cart at an East Main Street store;
9:55 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and it was towed to the police impound yard;
11:58 p.m.: incapacitated person, Arnold Street, a caller from an Arnold Street bar reports a man who has been denied entry because he appears to be intoxicated keeps trying to get into the bar, the responding officer reports that the man was deemed to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was placed in protective custody.
