8:21 a.m.: breaking and entering, Riverbend Condos, 555 Russell Road, a caller reports his car was broken into and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that his vehicle had not been locked when it was entered, the man said that his wallet, an iPad and an airbag were stolen;
8:37 a.m.: vandalism, Court Street, a caller reports trash barrels and trash are in the middle of the roadway, the responding officer reports large city-owned receptacles which have been re-designating recycling bins had contained trash before they were apparently intentionally knocked over and trash was strewn on the road, the officer reports he replaced the trash in the containers which were moved out of the roadway;
8:42 a.m.: vandalism, Security Manor, 47 Broad Street, a caller reports the door to his apartment and his vehicle door have been vandalized, the responding officer reports the man showed him a deep 12-15 inch scratch on the door of his SUV parked in the complex’s lot and then showed him the remains of graffiti on his door, the man said that he had cleaned an pejorative word and an anatomical graphic from his door before he discovered the vandalism to his vehicle and called police, the officer reports a neighbor also reported vandalism and said that glue had been introduced to his lock, the residents each said that they had recently had separate issues with another resident of the complex;
8:49 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Main Street, a caller complains of an icy and untreated sidewalk, the responding officer reports he spoke with a resident who said that she would ask her husband to deal with the problem when he gets home;
9:24 a.m.: larceny, U.S. Office, 8 W. Silver St., a resident came to the station to report that his iPhone 6 valued at more than $700 was stolen Thursday at the post office, the responding officer reports that the man said that his son had been playing with his phone on the counter while he was speaking with a postal employee and when he turned back the phone was gone, the man said that he spoke with a postal supervisor on Friday who said that video of the incident would be available for police on Tuesday;
9:29 a.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller reports via the online reporting option that two hubcaps were stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in the lot at a Springfield Road department store, the complainant asked that security video be reviewed;
9:41 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Main Street, a patrol officer reports he advised the manager or an East Main Street business of the need to clear the adjacent sidewalk, the manager said that she will take care of the problem;
10:53 a.m.: larceny, Mainline Drive, a detective reports he is investigating a theft from a locker room at a Main Street business, the detective reports a woman’s jacket was stolen;
11:16 a.m.: vandalism, Elm Motel, Russell Road, a caller reports vandalism to a motel room, the responding officer reports the owner said that a room rented to a known person was found to be damaged, the complainant said that he does not wish to pursue criminal charges but wants the damages documented to justify his refusal to rent a room to the man in the future;
12:02 p.m.: animal complaint, Montgomery Road, a caller reports a mangy coyote which appears to be injured is in his yard, the responding animal control officer reports the coyote appeared to have an injured leg, the ACO reports she fired at the animal but does not believe she hit it as an extensive search of the area revealed no blood spoor, the school resource officer at the high school was advised so he could make an announcement on the school’s intercom system;
4:03 p.m.: vandalism, Orange Street, a resident came to the station to complain that a tire of her car was slashed overnight, the responding officer reports the woman said that she suspects a former boyfriend is responsible, the responding officer reports that the man denied involvement and said that he does not know of anybody who would do such a thing;
4:57 p.m.: larceny, Arnold Street, a Sterling resident came to the station to report that he dropped his phone in the Arnold Street area and when he called it a male party answered who said that he would return the phone (valued at about $750) in exchange for $50, the caller said that he refused to pay the ransom and subsequently spoke with the man repeatedly until the phone was turned off;
8:28 p.m.: animal complaint, Bush Street, a caller reports taking custody of a brown and white dog with a collar but no tags, the responding animal control officer reports she took custody of an apparent pit bull puppy mix which is a 4-6 month-old intact male, the puppy was transported to the municipal animal shelter.
