8:03 a.m.: vandalism, East Bartlett Street, a caller reports her bedroom windows were egged overnight for the second time in three weeks, the responding officer reports that no lasting damage was done to the screens;
9:28 a.m.: assault, Powder Mill Village, 126 Union St., a caller reports she was assaulted by her personal care attendant, dual response dispatched, the responding officer reports the victim said that she was struck repeatedly by her PCA who has left, the woman told the officer that her PCA has been abusive previously but she has been afraid to complain for fear she would have nobody to care for her, the woman was transported to Noble Hospital, the officer reports he spoke with the agency the PCA works for and was told that a formal written request would be required to release information, a criminal complaint was filed;
9:49 a.m.: suspicious person, Main Street, a caller reports a man is sleeping in the entryway to her apartment building, the responding officer reports that he identified a man who said he is homeless and was resting in the foyer before he goes to the Samaritan Inn, the man left the area;
11:23 a.m.: animal complaint, Woodside Terrace, an animal control officer reports she received a report of an injured coyote in the area but was unable to locate it;
1:30 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to have been revoked for lack of insurance as was the vehicle it was towing, one vehicle was towed to a North Elm Street business while the other was towed to the owner’s South Hadley residence;
2:51 p.m.: suspicious person, Main Street, a resident came to the station to report an encounter between her 12-year-old daughter and a man in his sixties, the responding officer reports the complainant said that her daughter and a friend were in a Main Street donut shop when an older man initiated a conversation with them, the woman said that the man asked the girls so many questions that they became uncomfortable and told her about the encounter;
2:58 p.m.: larceny, East Silver Street, a caller from an East Silver Street supermarket reports three minors were caught shoplifting, the responding officer reports the parents of the miscreants were advised and they were served with ‘No trespassing’ orders;
3:40 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store reports a shoplifter who stole from the store earlier has returned and is being monitored as he continues to shoplift, the responding officer reports that an employee said that the man had been seen concealing merchandise valued at about $177 earlier but left the store before he could be detained, the employee said that the man returned to the store and was observed concealing cellphones and other merchandise valued at $319.72 but abandoned the items before he was detained at the exit, the man had previously been served with a ‘No trespassing’ order for all the chain’s stores, Enrique Figueroa-Diaz, 28, of no fixed address in Springfield, was arrested for larceny of property valued more than $250, shoplifting property valued more than $100 by asportation and for trespass;
4:20 p.m.: unwanted guest, Samaritan Inn, 7 Free St., a staffer requests an officer respond to escort a person from the shelter who is no longer welcome and is expected to become agitated when informed he has to leave, the responding officer reports a routine check revealed that the man was the subject of two outstanding warrants issued in 2014 by Springfield District Court, Jorge Luis Quinones, 39, of 7 Free St., was arrested on the warrants;
5:55 p.m.: larceny, Main Street, a Woburn resident came to the station to report her wallet was stolen, the responding officer reports the woman said that she had last used her wallet in a Main Street supermarket but when she returned to her car she realized it was no longer in her pocket, the woman said she searched she parking lot and store and conferred with store staff to no avail;
8:45 p.m.: parking violation, George Street, a patrol officer reports a citation was issued for a vehicle parked in violation of the snow emergency parking ban, similar infractions were dealt with on Frederick Street, Meadow Street, Belmont Street (3), Hanover Street, West School Street, Ellis Street, Green Avenue, Princeton Street, Taylor Avenue, Elm Street, McKinley Terrace, Myrtle Avenue, Cycle Street (5), Washington Street, Sterling Street and Atwater Street.
