6:53 a.m.: assist motorist, Pochassic Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered a motorist stuck in the snow at the Pochassic Street rotary, the officer reports he helped push the vehicle back to the roadway and it left the area;
7:42 a.m.: accident, East Mountain Road, a trucker called to report that his trailer struck the railroad overpass, the responding officer reports that the truck actually hit the turnpike overpass but did not need a tow truck to back away and depart the area;
9:36 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Southampton Road, a caller reports the sidewalk adjacent to two houses on Southampton Road have not been cleared, the responding officer reports that one of the houses is vacant and he will research the owner, in the meantime the resident of the other house agreed to clear both sidewalks;
10:32 a.m: larceny, North Elm Street, a caller from a North Elm Street convenience store reports an inventory revealed shrinkage of frozen food items and security video showed an employee removing items in question, the employee admitted stealing food, the complainant said that she believes the employee has been stealing over a long term and depredations have exceeded $250, the responding officer reports he was unable to immediately speak with suspect and the case was referred to the detective bureau;
10:34 a.m.: annoying phone calls, Patriots Drive, a resident came to the station to complain of numerous annoying phone calls received over the past three weeks, the responding officer reports the complainant said that the same caller has called repeatedly from the same telephone number and claims to represent the phone company while asking for data, a supervisory officer reports he called the number in question and found that the phone is associated with a hospital which treats psychiatric patients, no record of outgoing calls is available from the hospital;
1:36 p.m.: breaking and entering, Cardinal Lane, a resident came to the station to complain that two vehicles parked at his home were broken into overnight and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the complainant said a wallet with more than $80 in cash, a credit card, a license and student identification was stolen when the two unlocked cars were entered, the credit card was found to have been used in Westfield and the account was closed;
5:14 p.m.: larceny, East Main Street, a caller from an East Main Street drug store reports a female party stole baby formula and fled, the caller called back to add that at least one can of baby formula is missing and the suspect dropped a knife, the responding officer reports that a search of the area did not yield a suspect.
