8:14 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, a traffic bureau officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration as found to be expired and non-renewable, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
10:25 a.m.: disturbance, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, a school resource officer reports a school counselor advised him of a pupil who wanted to assault another student, the officer reports that the girl’s mother was contacted who said that her daughter could go home but was unable to provide transportation, school staff provided the girl a courtesy transport to her home;
10:52 a.m.: vandalism, Court Street, a resident came to the station to report vandalism to his car, the responding officer reports the man said that he returned to his car to find a man at his driver’s side door who then went to the passenger side door, the complainant said that when he challenged the man he said “Wrong car” and then left immediately in a superficially similar car parked adjacent to his, the victim said that the driver’s side door handle was found to be damaged;
11:13 a.m.: assist other agency, Southampton Road at Servistar Industrial Way, a code enforcement officer reports that, at the request of Law Department staff, he met with a man with whom there has been an issue about occupancy of a trailer deemed to be uninhabitable by city officials, the man said that the health inspector had said he could stay in the trailer but the officer found that the inspector said only that he could be there between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., the officer reports he spoke with representatives of assistance organizations and encouraged the man to follow up on his options;
12:28 p.m.: larceny, Little River Road, a resident came to the station to report that a registration plate was stolen, the responding officer reports the complainant said that the plate was stolen overnight Dec. 26;
5:15 p.m.: assist resident, William Street, a resident came to the station to request an officer to assist as she gathers property at a former address, the responding office reports the woman gathered some of her property and will make arrangements with the resident to get her larger items;
10:02 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Holyoke Road at East Mountain Road, see story in the Thursday edition of The Westfield News.
