2:16 a.m.: Mechanic Street, suspicious person, a patrol officer reports he encountered a male party and a routine check revealed that the man was the subject of an outstanding warrant, Stephen Batchelder, 29, of 65 Mechanic St., was arrested on the warrant;
11:58 a.m.: accident, Western Avenue, a caller reports a bicyclist was struck by a motor vehicle, see story in the Monday edition of The Westfield News;
1:28 p.m.: vandalism, Joseph Avenue, a caller reports a window of her car was shot out overnight, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News;
4:26 p.m.: animal complaint, Meadow Street at Lewis Street, a caller reports a hawk or other large bird has been struck by a vehicle and motorists stopping to help the bird are creating a traffic disruption, the responding officer reports a person with experience caring for large birds took custody of the injured bird;
8:35 p.m.: larceny, Highland Circle, a caller reports the theft of a registration plate, the responding officer reports the caller said that she noticed her plate was missing while her vehicle was parked at her home;
9:59 p.m.: suspicious vehicle, Mainline Drive, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle parked at the end of Mainline Drive with the engine running and lights off, the officer reports he approached the vehicle to find a couple engaged in amorous activity, the officer reports he spoke with the female party who assured him that she was in the vehicle by her own choice;

12:11 a.m.: accident, Pochassic Road, a caller from CSX Railroad reports a train struck a vehicle, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News;
1:09 a.m.: suspicious person, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered a disturbance at a Elm Street bar, a male party was found to be in possession of more than an ounce of marijuana, Chad E. Broughton, 36, of 4 William St., was arrested for possession of more than an ounce of marijuana;
10:54 a.m.: animal complaint, King Street, a caller reports that a dog which is regularly left outside all day and into the night barks continuously, the responding animal control officer reports citation warnings were issued for a barking dog, for an excessive number of dogs and for failure to vaccinate and license a dog;
4:21 p.m.: fraud, Sherman Street, a resident came to the station to report she was victimized by fraud, the responding officer reports the woman said that she responded to a local advertisement for a loan and filed an application on-line, the woman said that she was required to send more than $800 to the loan originator via Western Union and was told that the loan would be available within hours, the woman said that when she did not receive the loan she called the party she had been in contact with and was told that she would have to send almost $500 additionally for insurance before the loan would be disbursed, the woman said she balked and has since been unable to contact the putative lender;
4:35 p.m.: fire, Pochassic Road, a caller reports smoke coming from the area of the river bank, the responding firefighters report smoke was coming from a camper’s cooking fire, the camper was advised to limit the smoke as much as possible and was allowed to continue cooking;
4:47 p.m.: disturbance, a caller reports he was assaulted by a family member, the responding officer reports a verbal argument devolved into a physical altercation when he was punched by a relative, the caller said that he would seek a criminal complaint at Westfield District Court;
5:02 p.m.: vandalism, Union Street, a resident reports on-line an incident of vandalism to a residential window, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News;
6:19 p.m.: found property, Van Dussen Apartments, 42 Arnold St., a patrol officer responding to a disturbance call at the apartment building reports he found a duffle bag in a stairwell which contained clothing and a cell phone, the found property was transported to the station for safe keeping;
7:44 p.m.: disturbance, Berkshire Drive, a caller reports two male parties are fighting in front of his home, the responding officer reports he spoke with a male party who said that he was followed in his vehicle by another operator and when he stopped man accosted him, the victim said that he was punched, knocked to the ground and kicked repeatedly, a witness supported his account, the officer reports he spoke with suspect who said that the altercation was the result of road rage and provided a similar account of the incident, Anthony Ramirez, 47, of 119 Berkshire Drive, was arrested for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a shod foot;
8:13 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed;
10:18 p.m.: vandalism, Tannery Road, vandalism, Montgomery Road, a caller reports a storm door window was broken by an apparent BB impact a short time previously, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News.
