12:37 a.m.: liquor law violation, Mechanic Street at Cherry Street, a community policing supervisor reports a liquor law violation, a city ordinance violation citation for possession of an open container of alcohol in public was issued;
12:49 a.m.: liquor law violation, Mechanic Street, a community policing officer reports a male party was seen on Mechanic Street carrying what appeared to be a can of beer which he abandoned when he saw the officer, the man was detained and the can was found to be a partially full can of beer, the man was found to be younger than the legal drinking age, Connor M. Andry, 20, of 325 Grove St., Melrose, was arrested for being a person younger than the legal drinking age in possession of liquor, a subsequent offense, and for consumption of alcohol in public;
1:04 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Hillside Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating unusually slowly and stopped the car, the officer reports all the occupants were younger than the legal drinking age and there was alcohol in the vehicle, the boys were identified and transferred to the custody of parents, the appropriate school resource officer was notified;
1:31 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Western Avenue, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle repeatedly swerve across the center line and stopped the car, the officer reports the operator displayed the classic symptoms of alcohol intoxication and failed a field sobriety test, Andrea M. Palmborg, 22, of 380 Madison St., Wrentham, was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and for a marked lanes violation;
1:47 a.m.; assault, Airport Industrial Road, a caller reports she and her husband were involved in an altercation with a male party who claimed to be a police officer, the responding officer reports he spoke with a man who said that his girlfriend was threatened by a male party in a bar during an argument which developed about religious beliefs, the man said they had been asked to leave the bar because of the disturbance and the man accosted them outside, the woman said the man pulled up his shirt and exposed what she thought to be a weapon, the man said that he was a police officer but the suspect identified by his Registry of Motor Vehicles photograph was not found to be an officer of any area police department, a criminal complaint was filed;
9:38 a.m.: larceny, Root Road, resident came to the station to report that tires and rims were stolen from his property, the responding officer reports the complainant said that seven aluminum rims which had been stored behind his house were stolen on Friday, the man said that tires were mounted on three of the rims;
11:29 a.m.: animal complaint, North Road, a caller reports his neighbor’s roosters are disturbing his peace, the responding officer reports the director of animal control operations reports that the complainant’s neighbor operates a large farm and is in compliance with all pertinent regulations, the officer advised the complainant of his findings;
1:12 p.m.: suspicious person, Carroll Drive, a caller complains of a homeless person living on property near the river, the responding officer reports he found a man who was camped out near the river and said he had been there about a week, the man was advised that he was trespassing and urged to move;
1:49 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, School Street, a supervisory officer reports he observed a vehicle operating in the wrong direction on a one way street, the operator’s license was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
2:36 p.m.: breaking and entering, Mainline Drive, a caller from a Mainline Drive business reports that a customer’s vehicle was broken into, the responding officer reports the victim said that she parked her car about 1 p.m. and was in the business for about an hour and a half before she returned to it and found a window broken, the woman said a purse and a matching wallet which contained nothing of significant value had been stolen;
3:09 p.m.: animal complaint, Frederick Street, a caller reports he has taken custody of a black dog wearing a blue bandana, the responding animal control officer reports she transported a black chow mix dog to the municipal animal shelter;
5:31 p.m.: accident, North Elm at Notre Dame streets, a caller reports a minor two vehicle accident, the responding officer reports one vehicle left the area, the suspect vehicle was found nearby and the operator was found to be obviously highly intoxicated, Jeremy R. Hall, 29, of 56 Kane Brothers Circle, was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor (a second offense) and for leaving the scene of a property damage accident;
6:37 p.m.: breaking and entering, Conner Avenue, a caller reports she observed a male party enter a neighbor’s garage, the woman said that the man emerged from the garage with three bags of redeemable bottles and cans which he took to a nearby liquor store for redemption, the responding officer reports the suspect was found and said that he had permission from his friends to take the bottles and cans, the officer found that nobody was home at the residence to verify the man’s claim and the property was returned to the garage, the officer advised the man that he could return for the bottles and cans when the residents are at home.
