12:44 a.m.: officer wanted, North Elm Street, a caller reports a clerk claimed that a $20 bill offered by his son was counterfeit, the responding officer reports the bill was found to be genuine;
8:48 a.m.: assist citizen, Meadow Street, a caller reports she locked her keys inside her running vehicle, the responding firefighters report entry was made;
9:07 a.m.: assist citizen, Wilson Avenue, a caller reports he is locked out of his running vehicle, the responding firefighters report entry was made;
12:09 p.m.: larceny, Montgomery Street, a resident came to the station to complain that her bag was stolen outside a Montgomery Street variety store, the responding officer reports the complainant said that she left her bag containing clothing and a video game player and accessories outside the store and when she returned she found it was gone;
12:26 p.m.: fire alarm, Elm Street, a security company reports a commercial fire alarm, the responding firefighters report water is flowing out the back door and forcible entry was made, the responding deputy fire chief reports a sprinkler head burst (probably due to freezing), the owner and the commercial tenant were both notified;
1:29 p.m.: vandalism, Montgomery Road, a caller reports the siding of her home has twice been holed, apparently by BB or pellet impacts, the caller said that she does not require a formal report but wants the damage documented;
3:01 p.m.: animal complaint, Old Holyoke Road, the animal control officer reports she took custody of a stray dog and transported it to the Westfield Animal Shelter;
3:38 p.m.: arrest, Main Street, a patrol officer reports he observed male known party working as a busker for a Main Street business who was believed to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, Jyum Reed, 29, of 9 Morris Ave., was arrested on the warrant;
6:43 p.m.: assist citizen, Pleasant Street, a caller reports he has locked her keys in her running vehicle, the responding firefighters report entry was made;
7:17 p.m.: vandalism, Root Road, a caller reports someone shot out the window of a vehicle with a BB gun, the responding officer reports the caller showed him two windows of a gymnastics studio which had been holed by apparent BB or pellet impacts, the officer was also shown a company vehicle parked at the studio with a shattered window;
7:50 p.m.: disturbance, Henry’s Trailer Park, 868 Southampton Road, a caller reports her estranged boyfriend is at her trailer and pushed her, the responding officer reports the woman said that her boyfriend was upset because she reported an earlier assault which resulted in his arrest and he pushed her to the floor and threatened her life, the man had left the area, the woman was transported to the station to make a formal statement and when the woman was returned to her residence the suspect was found there, Christopher Mann, 45, of 868 Southampton Road, was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship and for intimidating a witness;
9:32 p.m.: suspicious vehicle, Tin Bridge, Ponders Hollow Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating on the rail trail and stopped the vehicle when it descended to the fire department training area, the officer reports a partially full bottle of liquor was observed in the vehicle, a city ordinance violation citation for possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle was filed;
11:43 p.m.: liquor law violation, Mechanic Street at Chapel Street, community policing officers report they observed a male party drop a backpack and walk quickly away from them, the officers approached the man who acknowledged that there was beer in the discarded backpack, a check revealed that the man had been issued a city ordinance violation citation for a similar offense less than a year previously and he was still not of legal drinking age, Mark William Difiore, 20, of 13 MapleSt., Needham, was arrested for being a person younger than the legal drinking age in possession of liquor;
11:50 p.m.: liquor law violation, Mechanic Street at Cherry Street, a community policing officer reports a liquor law violation, a city ordinance violation citation was issued.
