Midnight: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be revoked for lack of insurance, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
1:20 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s license was found to be suspended and non-renewable, the SUV was towed to the police impound yard;
9:13 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be revoked for lack of insurance, the SUV was towed to the police impound yard;
9:17 a.m.: assist citizen, a detective reports she was contacted by a female party who wishes to remain anonymous and said that she is concerned about a 13-year-old girl, the woman told the detective that an adult male who assist the girl’s mother with child care frequently makes sexually suggestive remarks to the girl, the woman said she pointed this out to the girl’s mother who was not concerned, the detective reports she contacted both the girl and her mother and told them that she is available if either want to talk or require police assistance;
10:05 a.m.: breaking and entering, Devon Terrace, a caller reports a suspicious person in the neighborhood, see story in the Wednesday edition of The Westfield News;
11:46 a.m.: city ordinance violation, White Street at Cherry Street, a caller reports a section of sidewalk has not been shoveled and is impassable despite an application of salt, the responding officer reports he advised the responsible resident that failure to clear the sidewalk will result in a citation;
1:59 p.m.: animal complaint, Elm Street, the director of animal control operations reports he took custody of a stray brown and white female pit bull dog and transported it to the municipal animal shelter;
2:28 p.m.: breaking and entering, Southampton Road, a caller reports a break in at the company yard, the responding officer reports the caller showed him two portable storage units from which locks were cut to gain access, it is not known what if anything was stolen;
2:41 p.m.: animal complaint, Orange Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have registration revoked for lack of insurance, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
2:42 p.m.: larceny, Main Street, a caller from a Main Street supermarket reports that a shoplifter has been detained at the store, the responding officer reports a store employee said that an adult female party had been seen to load merchandise into a shopping cart and left the store without making payment for the items, the woman was accosted outside the store and merchandise valued at about $225 was recovered, the employee said that the woman had previously been found to be shoplifting at the store and had been warned verbally, the officer reports the woman eventually admitted that the employee’s allegations were factual, the woman was served with a “No trespassing” order, Jacqueline M. Doody, 66, of 79B Danek Drive, was arrested for shoplifting property valued more than $100 by asportation;
7:41 p.m.: annoying phone calls, a resident came to the station to complain of annoying phone calls, the responding officer reports that he has received numerous text messages from an unknown party who continues to send them even after the complainant sent return messages suggesting that the other party is sending him messages by mistake and asking him to stop, the messages are neither overtly obscene or threatening but are inappropriate;
8:35 p.m.: assist other agency, Noble Hospital Emergency Department, a caller reports a patient is out-of-control, the responding officer reports a female party who was not in need of medical serves was creating a disturbance and declined repeated request to calm down and leave, Jessica L. Ryburn, 22, of 147 Hill Street Extension, Shelton, Conn., was arrested for disorderly conduct and trespass.
