7:02 a.m.: found property, Bristol Street, a caller reports finding a bicycle on her property, the responding officer reports that the wheels of the bike are fitted with tags reading “West Springfield Community Police Department”, the officer reports that a spokesperson for that department said that probably the bike was found property which was tagged but never claimed and eventually given away;
9:34 a.m.: identity fraud, North Elm Street, a resident came to the station to complain that somebody is using his information to apply for unemployment benefits, the responding officer reports the man said that his is currently employed and his supervisor notified him that someone applied for unemployment with his information;
12:32 p.m.: fire, Massachusetts Turnpike, a trooper from the Westfield barracks requests assistance with a fire at mile marker 34.1, a Westfield engine was dispatched as efforts continued to engage the Blandford Fire Department, the Westfield fire captain reports a box truck is fully engulfed in flames and the fire crew is running short of water, a Blandford tanker and engine arrived at the fire scene and the Westfield engine disengaged and returned to quarters after expending all the water on board;
5:03 p.m.: vandalism, Feeding Hills Road, a caller reports a family member’s tire was slashed, the responding officer reports the victim said that one tire on her car was slashed overnight and she has no suspects in mind;
5:16 p.m.: assist resident, Falcon Drive, a caller reports he inadvertently locked his keys inside his car with his child, the responding fire captain reports entry was gained;
6:44 p.m.: disturbance, Summer Street, a caller reports she was assaulted by her husband, the responding officer reports he found the caller on her front steps when he arrived and she said that she had been engaged in an argument with her husband who repeatedly told her to be quiet, the woman said that when she did not comply her husband slapped her once, the woman also said that her husband knows she is seven months pregnant, the officer reports the male party gave a similar account, Chhetri B. Purna, 23, of 17 Summer St., was arrested for assault and battery and for assault and battery on a pregnant woman;
8:31 p.m.: larceny, McKinley Terrace, a caller reports a family member has stolen his wife’s medication, the responding officer reports his investigation is incomplete;
8:55 p.m.: found property, Washington Street, a detective reports finding a tablet computer, the device was stored for safekeeping.
