Friday, July 19, 2013
3:36 a.m.: animal complaint, East Mountain Road, a caller reports he struck a deer with his vehicle and continued to his home on Old County Road, the responding officer reports he found the deer to be deceased, the DPW was notified to remove the carcass;
5:45 a.m.: disturbance, Main Street, a caller reports her intoxicated boyfriend is shoving her around and has threatened to punch her, the responding officer reports he encountered the male party outside the residence, Dimitriis Kasimis, 33, of Beekman Place, Agawam, was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship and for threatening to commit a crime, during the booking process he was found to be in possession of medication for which he had no prescription and was also charged with possession of a Class E drug;
7:15 a.m.: found property, Russell Road, a caller reports bicycle was left in front of his house overnight, the responding office reports the bike was transported to the station for safe keeping;
8:08 a.m.: found property, Franklin Street, a caller reports finding a motorcycle without a registration plate in his driveway, the responding officer reports the owner of the motorcycle could not be immediately located and it was transported to the police impound yard, see 11:24 a.m. Saturday entry;
12:22 p.m.: larceny, Arnold Street, a caller reports the theft of a cell phone, the responding officer reports the complainant said that he had been at an Arnold Street bar the night before and left his phone on his table while he was playing pool, the man said his phone was missing when he returned;
3:06 p.m.: fire, White Street, a caller reports the porch and side of a house are on fire, dual response dispatched, the responding officer reports firefighters extinguished the fire which reportedly was sparked by a discarded cigarette which ignited bushes next to the porch which in turn ignited the porch and house;
3:51 p.m.: city ordinance violation, Cross Street, a caller reports a neighbor his watering his lawn in violation of the current water use restrictions, the responding officer reports he spoke with the resident despite a language barrier and asked his daughter to write down the restrictions for her father who was immediately cooperative and shut down the sprinkler system;
7:05 p.m.: assist other police department, Southampton police request that a Westfield officer attempt to take into custody a city resident sought relative to a domestic disturbance in Southampton, the responding officer reports the suspect was located and transported to the Southampton line where Southampton police took her into custody;

Saturday, July 20, 2013
7:07 a.m.: larceny, Tekoa Country Club, 459 Russell Road, a caller reports that between 10-10:30 p.m. flags and stakes were stolen from the golf course;
10:09 a.m.: fire, Sackett Street, a caller reports a backyard fire, the responding firefighters report the resident was advised of the pertinent regulations and extinguished the fire;
11:24 a.m.: larceny, West School Street, a resident came to the station to report that his motorcycle was stolen from his unlocked garage overnight Thursday, the responding officer reports the man was advised that the motorcycle had been recovered on Friday and transported to the police impound yard;
5:14 p.m.: larceny, Russell Road, a caller reports a bicycle was stolen overnight, the responding officer reports the caller said that the bicycle last seen on Friday had been stolen from her unlocked garage;
7:22 p.m.: disturbance, Cedar Lane, a caller reports his sons are engaged in a physical altercation, the responding officer reports that the two combatants said that an argument devolved into a scuffle and one of the brothers fell and struck his head on the corner of a table causing a bloody laceration, that man was transported to Noble Hospital for treatment, the officer reports that both parties were advised of their protective order options and cross criminal complaints were filed;
8:44 p.m.:fire, Mechanic Street, a caller reports a backyard fire, the responding fire captain reports the resident was advised of the pertinent regulations and extinguished the fire;
11:55 p.m.: disturbance, Fowler Avenue, a caller reports loud party at a neighbor’s house, the responding officer reports several underage youths fled upon arrival of police and two persons found nearby outside the structure were deemed to be so intoxicated that they needed medical assistance and were transported to Noble Hospital, the officer reports the caller said that the family has a history of youthful parties and absent parents, the officer reports that the adult residents have a history of failing to respond to police attempts to address the issue.
