12:08 a.m.: annoying phone calls, Hanover Street, a resident came to the station to complain that her former boyfriend has posted insulting and offensive messages on her Twitter account, the responding officer reports the woman has no evidence to identify who is abusing her Twitter account but believes it is her former boyfriend;
8:19 a.m.: larceny, Southwick Road, a caller reports a customer pumped fuel valued at $50 and left without making payment, the responding officer reports the suspect vehicle was not found;
10:23 p.m.: officer wanted, Stanley Park, 400 Western Avenue, a caller requests an officer for an intoxicated male party in the playground area, the responding officer reports the caller pointed out an adult man who was sitting with children who became loud and belligerent, the officer reports he served the man with a ‘No trespassing’ order prepared by park officials while he was blustering about suing the park;
12:14 p.m.: suspicious circumstances, Beckwith Avenue, a caller reports that a neighbor’s front door is open and the three resident dogs are running loose, the responding officer reports the dogs ran inside the house when he arrived and prevented him from checking the interior, the door was secured;
1:11 p.m.: fire, North Elm Street, a caller from a gas station and convenience store reports a fire in the mulch near one of the gas pumps, the responding firefighters report customers had used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire and the smoldering remains were thoroughly doused with a garden hose;
2:18 p.m.: disturbance, Pearl Street, a caller reports her son assaulted her, the responding officer reports the woman said that her son became upset when he was disciplined and threw her around the house before he left, his mother said that when the boy left she saw him kick and dent her vehicle, the officer reports a criminal complaint for assault and battery was filed with the Holyoke Juvenile Court;
2:48 p.m.: fraud, Main Street, a detective reports that a representative of a Main Street supermarket provided him with fraudulent checks passed by a customer;
5:44 p.m.: accident, Franklin Street, a caller reports an accident in which the operator of the other vehicle appeared not to realize that she had been involved in a crash and “stumbled” into a nearby liquor store, the responding officer reports the operator admitted drinking alcohol and failed a field sobriety test, Sandra Bein, 60, of 67 Orange St., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation;
7:17 p.m.: illegal trash disposal, Springfield Water and Sewer Commission, 1515 Granville Road, a caller reports a camera system has collected pictures of a person dumping trash on the water department property, the caller said that his department will not pursue criminal charges if the refuse is removed; the responding officer reports the rather high definition images clearly show the vehicle’s registration plate and the operator, the officer reports he spoke with registered owner of the vehicle and he immediately recognized him to be the suspect, the officer reports the man was immediately apologetic and promised to remove the debris before sundown Tuesday;
7:42 p.m.: breaking and entering, Woodmont Street, a caller reports property was stolen from his garage, the responding officer reports the caller said that his unsecured garage was entered and tools and supplies for a home improvement project valued t almost $800 were stolen;
8:36 p.m.: assault, Elm Street, a caller reports a person was stabbed, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News;
9:32 p.m.: larceny, YMCA of Westfield, Court Street, a resident came to the station to complain that his phone was stolen, the responding officer reports the man said that he left his phone under a hat on a shelf in the locker room while he was at the Y and found it to be missing when he returned.
