Emergency Response and Crime Report
Tuesday, June 18, 2013;
12:41 a.m.: vandalism, Barrister Circle, a caller reports a truck drove on his lawn, the responding officer reports the caller said that the operator intentionally drove on his lawn resulting in damage, the officer reports a search of the area did not yield the suspect vehicle;
12:48 a.m.: suspicious person, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a male party who appeared to be attempting to hide in bushes, the officer spoke with the youth and when he asked what he had in his backpack the man said that it was not his and contained pills that were not his, the officer reports he inspected the backpack and found five plastic bags containing green leafy material along with a pill bottle with label which was very worn and partially removed, John M. Lyttle, 18, of 9 Sackett St., was arrested for possession of a Class D drug with intent to distribute and possession of a Class E drug with intent to distribute, the officer reports that when the suspect was in his cruiser he admitted that the backpack and marijuana belonged to him but denied ownership of the pills although he declined to answer when asked who the pills did belong to;
8:36 a.m.: larceny, Jefferson Street, a resident came to the station to complain that his pain medication was stolen, the responding officer reports the man said that he discovered that his last two pain pills were missing after a visit from a family member;
9:14 a.m.: assist citizen, Stanley Park, 400 Western Ave., a caller reports keys are locked inside a vehicle, the responding firefighters report the vehicle owner had called a motor club which had responded and gained entry, no fire department services were needed;
10:43 a.m.: disturbance, Bates Street, a caller reports her sister and her boyfriend are arguing, the responding officer reports he spoke with a woman who said that she had been in an altercation with her boyfriend who picked her up by her neck and also took her cat from her and threw it against a wall, the woman said that she took the cat downstairs to her sister who called police prompting the suspect to flee, the officer reports he found the man in the driveway of his residence, Justin M. Clegg, 20, of 22 Malone Ave., was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship and for cruelty to an animal;
1:32 p.m.: animal complaint, Buschmann Ave., the director of animal control operations reports that he took custody of a black and white brindled Boston terrier dog, the dog was transported to the municipal animal shelter;
5:44 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s license was found to be suspended, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
6:20 p.m.: suspicious persons, Greenwood St., a caller reports seeing two boys going behind a vacant house, the responding officer reports he found two boys inside an abandoned house who said that they entered because they were curious, the boys were advised of the pertinent trespassing laws and a pellet gun was seized, one of the boys was transported to his home and surrendered to the custody of a relative;
6:53 p.m.: assist resident, Franklin Avenue, a caller reports his former girlfriend is removing property from his apartment, the responding officer reports that both parties in the dispute were advised that ownership of any disputed property would have to be determined in civil court.
