1:41 a.m.: suspicious activity, Old Pochassic Street, a patrol officer reports he observed two youths on bicycles pull into a construction area, the officer reports he spoke with the youths and immediately detected a pronounced odor of marijuana, one of the parties surrendered a small amount of contraband, a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
9:14 a.m.: assist motorist, East Mountain Road, a patrol officer reports a stuck tractor trailer unit, the officer reports the trucker was able to extricate his vehicle after ten minutes and the normal traffic flow was restored;
12:24 p.m.: assist citizen, North Elm Street, a supervisory firefighter reports an elevator alarm is sounding and someone may be trapped in an elevator, a caller subsequently reported that he was in fact stuck in the elevator, the responding firefighters reports building maintenance personnel rescued the man prior to their arrival, see 3:39 p.m. entry;
12:52 p.m.: accident, Granville Road, a traffic bureau officer reports a single vehicle crash and requests dual response, the officer reports a car left the roadway and struck a tree, the DPW was requested to remove a tree, the operator was transported to Baystate Medical Center where she was admitted and was reported to be in good condition Wednesday morning;
1:10 p.m.: traffic complaint, North Elm Street at Holyoke Road, a detail officer reports a male party in a wheelchair is stuck in the intersection, the responding officer reports a male party was found on the side of the road in a electric wheelchair with an exhausted battery, the PVTA was notified and responded to transport the man;
3:39 p.m.: assist citizen, a caller reports a person is stuck in an elevator, the responding fire captain requests that the building owner be contacted as assistance is needed from the company which services the elevator, a dispatcher reports the owner was not located at either contact number on file and the representatives of two elevator companies contacted said that they do not service the building, the person in the elevator was removed by 4:12 p.m. and when the owner responded he posted an “Out of Order” on the elevator until it can be serviced;
5:35 p.m.: animal complaint, Birch Bluff Drive, a caller reports a raccoon is foaming at the mouth, the responding officer reports he dispatched a rabid raccoon and the carcass was left in a trash barrel for the animal control officer;
5:47 p.m.: loitering, Tin Bridge, Ponders Hollow Road, a patrol officer reports he encountered a group of wet youths near the bridge but found none in the water, the officer reports he advised the youths that swimming is still prohibited even though the posted signs may be illegible, the youths left the area;
10:44 p.m.: officer wanted, Edgewood Apartments, 134 Union St., an officer reports he assisted as a man collected property at Edgewood Apartments.
