1:16 a.m.: assist motorist, Franklin Street, a call requests that police assist him with a male party who was asked to leave but refused, the caller said that the man has already been served a ‘No trespassing’ order, the responding officer reports the suspect was found on the porch, the order was confirmed, David James Mitchell, 31, of 285 Elm St., was arrested for trespass;
1:47 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Jefferson Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating recklessly at a high rate of speed and gave chase, the officer found the vehicle parked in a Jefferson Street driveway where the operator fled on foot and the officer detained the man in a neighbor’s yard, the man said that he had been out for a walk, Christopher M. Bovat, 27, of 9 Jefferson St., was arrested for failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation;
2:07 a.m.: officer wanted, Elm Street, a caller reports her brother is intoxicated and has locked herself and her mother out of an apartment they are responsible for, the responding officer reports there was no response at the door and firefighters were requested to effect entry, entry was made and the man was found to be passed out inside the apartment, the man’s family members said they were unable to care for him and he was placed in protective custody;
6:24 a.m.: animal complaint, North Elm Street, officers reports two deer which had been in the street were herded back toward the railway right of way;
10:28 a.m.: found property, Orange Street at Shepard Street, a caller reports finding a hypodermic syringe, the responding officer reports the needle was transported to Noble Hospital for proper disposal;
10:36 a.m.: suspicious person, Lockhouse Road, a caller reports seeing a male party on Lockhouse Road carrying a rifle who appeared to be wearing a holstered pistol, the responding officer reports he encountered a 14-year-old boy who said the weapons were pellet guns owned by his elder brother, the officer reports he confiscated the guns and transported the boy to his home where he advised his mother that the boy was too young to possess pellet guns, the guns were delivered to the boy’s mother;
10:58 a.m.: larceny, South Maple Street, resident came to the station to report that her debit card was lost but has been used at a South Maple Street gas station, the responding officer reports the woman said hat the card was last seen on Friday but was used before she closed the account;
11:23 a.m.: animal complaint, Kane Brothers Circle, a caller reports her daughter was bitten while running, the responding officer reports the 16-year-old girl said she was bitten by a small dog and showed the officer two small lacerations on her leg, the girl pointed out the dog’s home and the owner said that the dog was current with its vaccinations, the owner was advised to quarantine the dog;
1:25 p.m.: officer wanted, Stanley Park, 400 Western Ave., a park ranger requests an officer for a male party who has exposed himself in the park, the responding officer reports the suspect has left but was identified, a ‘No trespassing’ order was served to the suspect;
2:26 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Western Ave., a patrol officer reports a traffic stop and the operator may be the subject of an outstanding warrant, the officer reports the warrant was confirmed, Justin M. Cressotti, 28, of 55 Woodside Terrace, was arrested on the warrant;
2:36 p.m.: assist citizen, Shaker Farms Country Club, 866 Shaker Road, a caller reports he has locked his keys inside his vehicle, the responding firefighters report entry was gained
3:29 p.m.: soliciting, Springfield Road, a caller reports a family is soliciting money, the responding officer reports a California man on a traffic island was advised to move himself and his family out of the roadway and complied;
3:45 p.m.: fire, Fox Hill Drive, a caller reports a large fire in his oven and was advised to evacuate, the responding firefighters report the fire was out upon their arrival and they ventilated smoke from the house;
5:57 p.m.: found property, Meadow Street, a clerk from a convenience store reports she found two bicycles which had been at the store since the night before, the two BMX style bikes were transported to the station for safe keeping;
10:06 p.m.: suspicious persons, Birch Bluff Drive, a caller reports a group of youths are knocking over trash barrels, the responding officer reports he spoke with youths who said that one of their number had kicked a trash barrel before the group dispersed and two left in a vehicle which was stopped by police, the youths admitted they were under the influence of alcohol and family members of one of the boys came to take custody of both boys and the vehicle;
10:55 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Union Street, a patrol officer reports a motorcyclist initially refused to stop but eventually did, the officer reports a criminal complaint was filed and the motorcycle was transported to the police impound yard;
11:57 p.m.: found property, Franklin Street, a person came to the station to surrender a wallet found on Franklin Street, the responding officer reports no contact information for the owner was found in the wallet and it was held for safe keeping.
