1:05 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have expired registration, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
2:28 a.m.: annoying phone calls, Park Square Town Houses, 140 Union St., a caller reports she received two calls she found to be threatening, the responding officer reports the meaning of the very few words spoken was ambiguous;
10:24 a.m.: vandalism, Church of the Atonement, 36 Court St., a Southwick resident came to the station to report that her car was vandalized while it was at the church the night before, the responding officer reports the woman said that she had been at the church 7-8:25 p.m. the previous evening and when she left she noticed that a scratch had been inflicted to her car’s driver’s side doors;
10:36 a.m.: larceny, Cherry Street, a resident came to the station to report that his bicycle was stolen, the responding officer reports the man said that the bike had been last seen Thursday evening chained in his front yard and on Friday morning he discovered that the chain had been cut and the bike valued at about $70 had been stolen;
12:02 p.m.: disturbance, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, a school resource officer reports a pupil said that her former boyfriend violated a recently served abuse prevention order by leaving a note for her on her porch, by sending her a message on a social networking website and by staring at her when he saw her at a park, the officer reports three criminal complaints were filed;
12:29 p.m.: assist other agency, a caller from the Highland Valley Elder Services agency requests assistance dealing with the relatives of a recently deceased person, the responding officer reports a resident complained that her recently deceased husband’s daughter and grandson have been removing property from her house without her permission, the woman said that she is particularly concerned about a shotgun which had hung near a door, the officer reports the resident’s step-daughter said that her step-mother had give her father’s guns to her son but she did not know exactly what or how many guns were involved, the officer found that the man in question has not been issued a license to carry firearms, the case was referred to the Detective Bureau;
4:08 p.m.: violation of a protective order, Meadow Street, a resident came to the station to report that the defendant of a protective order has violated the ‘No contact’ clause of the order, the officer reports that while speaking with the woman her phone repeatedly received calls from the suspect’s number, the man was found at his workplace, Luis M. Santiago, 25, of 10 Franklin Ave., was arrested for violation of an abuse prevention order;
8:27 p.m.: disturbance, Little River Crossing, 93 S. Maple St., a caller reports two female parties are arguing in the parking lot, the responding officer reports he spoke with a woman who said that’s he had visited a friend but an argument developed and while she was in the parking lot calling for a taxi the man came out to continue the argument but said there was no assaultive physical contact, the officer reports he spoke through a window with the man who declined to open the door but gave a similar account of the incident;
11:05 p.m.: noise complaint, Nicholas Lane, a caller reports a party in the woods, the responding officer reports no persons were found but a large bonfire was burning, Westfield firefighters were summoned to extinguish the fire.
