1:27 a.m.: breaking and entering, King Street, a caller reports her apartment was again broken into and property was again stolen, the responding officer reports the complainant said that on two previous occasions her apartment was entered and cash and other property was stolen, the woman said that she had set up her laptop computer to take a picture of anyone entering her apartment and, although the laptop computer was stolen in the most recent incident, it sent a photo to her phone of a person in her apartment who she recognized , the woman provided the officer the image recorded, see Wednesday, 6:30 a.m. entry;
1:59 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Silver Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle thrice cross the center line and stopped the car, the officer reports he immediately detected the odor of alcohol and observed the classic symptoms of alcohol intoxication about the operator who failed a field sobriety test, Anita Inna Ruge, 21, of 356 Valley View Drive, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation;
9:00 a.m.: animal complaint. Westfield Animal Shelter, 178 Apremont Way, a West Springfield animal control officer brought a neutered male black and white domestic shorthaired cat to the shelter;
12:47 p.m.: suspicious behavior, Franklin Street, a caller report that a male co-worker has made unwanted advances toward her and has threaten to blow up the store he works at, a caller from a Franklin Street motel also called in reference to the man, an officer went to speak with the man who invited him into his motel room where the officer observed a bag of marijuana in plain sight, the officer reports a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
1:06 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, an employee of a Springfield Road department store reports a woman has been taking receipts from the trash and then using the receipts to ‘return’ merchandise taken from the shelves, the responding detective reports he has instituted an investigation;
2:22 p.m.: breaking and entering, Park Street, a caller reports seeing a person exit a neighbor’s garage with a bag in his hand, the responding officer reports the unlocked garage at the apparently vacant house does not house anything of value and it is unclear if a crime occurred;
7:34 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, an employee of a Springfield Road department store reports a man was seen shoplifting clothing and when an attempt was made the detain the man he fled the area, the responding officer reports the employee said that the stolen merchandise was recovered and the store does not require a formal report;
9:12 p.m.: identity fraud, Vadnais Street, a resident came to the station to report that a communications account was opened fraudulently with his information, the responding officer reports the man said that he has been dunned for a telephone account opened in his name without his knowledge which is now delinquent, the case was referred to the Financial Crimes unit of the Detective Bureau.
