12:59 a.m.: suspicious vehicle, Main Line Drive, a patrol officer reports he observed a running vehicle at a closed business and investigated to find a man who said that he is homeless and the vehicle owner had just brought him something he needs to repair his bike, the man said that he has been living in woods behind the business for some time and the business owners are aware of his presence;
9:23 a.m.: officer wanted, Pearl Street, a caller reports neighbors are continuously honking a car horn and threatened and swore at him when he complained, the responding officer reports he spoke with a person working on a vehicle who acknowledged honking the horn but denied a confrontation had occurred, a routine check revealed the man to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, Alexis Oquendo, 35, of 29 Elizabeth St., Springfield, was arrested on a warrant issued this year by Springfield District Court;
12:12 p.m.: disturbance, The Willows Apartments, 19 Lockhouse Road, a caller reports two men are loudly arguing about marijuana, the responding officer reports the he listened and heard loud voices but heard no mention of marijuana, the officer reports the tone and content of the conversation indicated that the speakers were intoxicated and when he knocked on the door the female party who responded indicated one of the men present and said that he is not welcome but refuses to leave, the officer reports the man agreed to leave but had no way to get home, the man was deemed to be too intoxicated to care for himself and he was placed in protective custody;
1:30 p.m.: animal complaint, Westfield Animal Shelter, 178 Apremont Way, a woman came to the shelter to surrender a lhasa apso dog;
2:30 p.m.: found property, North Road at Southampton Road, a resident came to the station to surrender a registration plate she found while cleaning her front yard;
5:00 p.m.: officer wanted, South Street, a resident came to the station to complain that a friend robbed him of his marijuana in Easthampton, the respond detectives reports he spoke with Easthampton officers who asked that the complainant come to speak with members of their department about this issue;
5:31 p.m.: larceny, North Road, a resident came to the station to complain that his debit card has been used without authority, the responding officer reports his investigation found that property purchased with the complainant’s debit card number had been shipped to a city man, the officer found that the man had found employment online as a “re-shipper” and believed he had been hired to accept shipments and send them on to another address, some of the merchandise was recovered, the “re-shipper” was believed to have been duped and no charges were filed;
8:10 p.m.: burglary, Security Manor, 47 Broad Street, a resident called the station to report that a large amount of cash was stolen from his apartment while he was briefly away, the responding officer reports the complainant said that a neighbor had been visiting and queried an envelope containing cash which he happened to see, the complainant said that he attempted to discreetly move the envelope which contained the cash from his tax refund, $2,952, out of sight and placed in under a blanket in his child’s crib, the man said that the he and his neighbor decamped to the other man’s apartment but, when his child needed a clean diaper, his neighbor volunteered to get it from the victim’s apartment, the victim said that he subsequently found the envelope gone, the officer reports he spoke with the victim’s neighbor who eventually admitted taking the envelope and returned the cash, a criminal complaint was filed;
8:58 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a motor vehicle operating at a high rate of speed and used radar to determine the vehicle was traveling at 50 mph in a 30 mph zone, the vehicle was stopped and a routine check revealed that the operator’s license had been suspended, Dana E. Jerin, 22, of 72 Granville Road, Southwick, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for speeding in violate of special regulations;
9:29 p.m.: incapacitated person, North Elm Street, a caller reports seeing a pedestrian fall over a guardrail, the respond officer reports the man was found and helped to his feet but was very unstable and deemed to be too intoxicated to care for himself, the man was placed in protective custody.
