12:51 a.m.: assist other agency, Noble Hospital Emergency Department, Court Street, a caller requests an officer for a patient who is highly intoxicated and combative, the responding officer reports the patient was discharged and placed in protective custody;
5:57 a.m.: incapacitated person, McGinn Apartments, a caller reports a man is sleeping on the floor of a hallway, the responding officer reports he was told that the man had entered the building with a friend but when he left his friend he remained in the building to sleep, the man left the building upon request;
8:58 a.m.: identity fraud, Leaview Drive, a resident reports via the online reporting option that two credit cards were compromised and have been used fraudulently;
9:54 a.m.: liquor law violation, Westfield High School, 177 Montgomery Road, a school resource officer reports a 14-year-old pupil has been found to be in possession of alcohol at the school, the juvenile boy was arrested for being delinquent by reason of being a person younger than the legal drinking age in possession of liquor;
10:00 a.m.: school investigation, Westfield Middle School North, 350 Southampton Road, a school resource officer reports a pupil was found to have inappropriate photos stored on his cellphone, the SRO reports he spoke with the pupil’s parents and the child;
11:30 a.m.: animal complaint, Westfield Animal Shelter, 178 Apremont Way, a resident came to the station to surrender an intact male husky dog reportedly found dragging a chain on Russell Road;
2:57 p.m.: larceny, Main Street, a manager of a Main Street drug store reports a review of security video shows a woman stole two electronic tooth brushes valued at $65 each, the responding officer reports the video will be reviewed;
4:41 p.m.: accident, North Road, a caller reports a vehicle has rolled over, the responding officer reports he found a vehicle on its roof but the occupant had been able to exit the Jeep, the officer reports the operator said that she lost control on the snow covered road and the vehicle rolled over after it left the roadway and struck an embankment, the operator was transported to Holyoke Hospital and the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
7:50 p.m.: potential disturbance, Washington Street, the community policing supervisor reports that he observed a large number of college-aged youths enter an apartment building and followed them to an apartment where he had responded to at least three previous excessively large gatherings, the officer reports he advised the tenant that if he continues to host such gatherings he will recommend to the landlord that he be evicted due to continued violations of the clause of his lease which prohibits such large numbers of guests, the officer reports a large number of guests subsequently left the apartment;
10:26 p.m.: disturbance, Orange Street, a caller reports a loud college-aged party, the responding officer reports the apartment was quiet upon his arrival and the cooperative tenant allowed him entry, the tenant asked his guests to leave and they complied without incident;
11:12 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store requests assistance serving a shoplifting suspect with a ‘No trespassing’ order, the responding officer reports the order was served and he escorted the suspect from the store;
11:15 p.m.: city ordinance violation, Mechanic Street, a patrol officer reports he observed man urinating in a driveway and a city ordinance violation citation was issued, the officer reports the man said that he did not use the bathroom in the apartment he came from because it was too crowded, the officer reports when he knocked on the door he could hear persons screaming but there was no response at the door, the officer reports he heard a fire alarm inside and the fire department was summoned, tenants then exited the building and were advised to clear their guests from the building, about 150 persons exited and the alarm was found to be a smoke alarm triggered by tobacco and marijuana smoke.
