12:45 a.m.: suspicious vehicle, Russell Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle with four occupants parked at a closed golf course, the officer reports he approached to observe the odor of burnt marijuana and the operator surrendered a small amount of contraband, a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
6:31 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Arnold Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and nonrenewable, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
7:10 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
9:34 a.m.: animal complaint, Lincoln Street, a caller reports she has taken custody of a stray dog, the dog was transported to the municipal animal shelter;
1:02 p.m.: found property, School Street, a resident came to the station to report finding a registration plate on School Street, the desk officer reports the owner was advised;
1:11 p.m.: school investigation, Westfield Middle School South, 30 W. Silver St., a school resource officer reports he was advised that two seventh grade girls became involved in an altercation and one punched the other’s head repeatedly, the aggressor was subjected to administrative sanctions and the victim subsequently complained of a headache, the victim’s mother spoke with the SRO and said that although she does not wish to pursue criminal charges at this time she wants the issue to be addressed, the SRO reports the aggressor’s mother is scheduled to meet with school officials;
1:46 p.m.: North Elm Street, a caller relays a report alleging that neighbors had been engaged in a verbal confrontation and a witness saw the male party chase after the female party and drag her back upstairs, the responding officer reports that despite evidence that the residents were at home nobody answered the door until efforts to effect a forcible entry were initiated, both parties asserted that their confrontation had been entirely verbal and the officer observed no signs of injury to either party;
1:58 p.m.: recovered property, Elm Street, a caller reports an unknown vehicle has been parked in a private parking lot since Saturday, the responding officer reports a check revealed the vehicle had been reported to have been stolen in Holyoke, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
3:10 p.m.: suspicious property, White Street, a resident came to the station with a plastic bag containing a tiny rock of a white substance and said that he believes the rock is crack cocaine which he believes his parent might be using, the supervisory officer reports the substance tested negative for opiates;
5:59 p.m.: annoying phone calls, East Silver Street, a community policing officer reports a resident complained that he has received about 100 calls in the past two days from his former girlfriend after their breakup, the CP officer reports the man asked for no action at this time but wanted the calls documented;
7:35 p.m.: counterfeiting, East Main Street, a caller from a second-hand store reports finding a counterfeit $20 bill in the day’s receipts, the responding officer reports the manager identified a male party she thought might have offered the bill but had no conclusive evidence that he did;
7:52 p.m.: narcotics violation, Munger Hill Road, detectives report a search warrant was executed and marijuana plants and growing supplies were seized, criminal complaints were filed;
8:25 p.m.: suspicious person, Mary Lane, a caller reports someone is ringing doorbells in the area, the responding officer reports that there had been three previous similar calls about solicitors seeking signatures for a petition who have registered their intentions with the police as required, however the pertinent city ordinance prohibits soliciting between 8 p.m. and 9 a.m., a city ordinance violation citation was issued.
