9:26 a.m.: traffic violation, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, Smith Avenue a school resource officer reports he was told that a student had been seen driving past a school bus loading passengers after school on Monday, the SRO reports the student admitted passing part of a bus and was advised that he may not drive past any part of a bus which is stopped to board school children;
11:13 a.m.: arrest, Main Street, a detective reports that he sought the subject of an outstanding warrant and waited outside his registered address, the detective reports that when the man emerged he was detained, Ronald L. Hawley II, 30, of 153 Main Street, was arrested on a warrant issued this year in Westfield District Court, see next entry;
1:05 p.m.: arrest, Main Street, a detective reports that he had reason to believe the subject of an outstanding warrant was inside a building he had been surveilling but there was no answer at the door, the detective reports he spoke with the landlord who said that the tenants should have left and that there was thus nobody with a right to be inside, the officer entered the house and the suspect was subsequently seen hiding on the roof, the woman returned inside when the officer saw her and tried to hide but was taken into custody, Amanda L. Eicher, 27, of 14 Holland Ave., was arrested on a warrant issued in 20913 by the Springfield District Court;
1:24 p.m.: school investigation, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, Smith Avenue a school resource officer reports he was told by a student that another student has been pressuring female students at other schools to send him naked pictures of themselves, the officer reports his informant identified possible victims and the SRO contacted officials at two area high school to advise them of his information;
1:40 p.m.: breaking and entering, Sunflower Lane, a caller reports her vehicle was entered and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that she left her purse in her unlocked car when it was parked at her home and returned to find the vehicle had been entered and the purse had been stolen;
2:16 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Court Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have expired registration, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard and the officer provided the operator a courtesy transport to the Westfield State University campus;
4:02 p.m.: identity fraud, Russell Road, a resident came to the station to report that someone used her personal information to file a fraudulent federal tax return;
5:26 p.m.: fraud, Springfield Road, an employee of a Springfield Road department store reports that two men shoplifted merchandise and left the store whereupon a woman entered with the stolen merchandise and ‘returned’ the items valued at about $300, the employee advised the officer that the store would mail a ‘No trespassing’ order to the woman who identified herself when she ‘returned’ the merchandise and will pursue criminal charges through the Westfield District Court.
