9:56 a.m.: domestic abuse, a detective reports a caller from the district attorney’s office alerted her to a possible instance of abuse of a child, the detective reports that the mother of a one-year-old boy said that she had picked her son up after the boys’ father had been caring for him and noticed bruising on the boy’s head, the woman said that the father told her that the boy fell, the woman showed the detective the baby who was clean and appeared happy but had small bruises on the side of his head, the case remains under investigation;
11:40 a.m.: animal complaint, North Road, the animal control officer reports she took custody of two retriever dogs and transported them to the municipal animal shelter;
12:13 p.m.: larceny, Powdermill Village, 126 Union St., a resident came to the station to complain that a money order left in a drop box at the apartment complex was stolen and cashed, the responding officer reports the complainant said that she paid her rent with a money order she left in a drop box at the complex and was later dunned for overdue rent, the woman said that she investigated and found that the money order had been made payable to an unknown person and cashed, the officer reports the property management staff was able to connect the name of the person who cashed the money order with a person who had applied for work, an officer was able to speak with that person who agreed to come to the station on Monday to discuss the incident with the investigating detective;
7:20 p.m.: wellbeing check, Powdermill Village, 126 Union St., a call from a child at risk hotline reports being notified by a psychiatric case worker that she found two children, aged six and eight, at home alone, the case worker had said that the six-year-old boy said that he was home with his sister and his dog, the girl said that her mom was in Springfield and had left them alone, the caller asked that police check on the situation, officers attempted to make contact with somebody at the apartment at 8:02 p.m. and 9:24 p.m. and report that the apartment was dark and no voices could be heard inside, an officer who checked the apartment at 12:15 a.m. reports he found the children in bed sleeping and their mother and her fiancée at home, the woman said that she had been at a neighbor’s residence with the children when officers has attempted to check earlier;
7:45 p.m.: disturbance, Lindbergh Boulevard, a caller reports she is concerned about a male party who is visiting her daughter, the woman said that her daughter said that she is scared, the responding officer reports a routine check revealed that the male party was the subject of an outstanding warrant, Nicholas L. Smith, 33, of 14 Lindbergh Boulevard, was arrested on a warrant issued by the Attleboro District Court in 2004;
11:23 p.m.: disturbance, Elm Street, a caller from an Elm Street bar reports that two patrons were asked to leave and before they did one man punched a hole in a wall, the responding officer reports that he found the two men on Elm Street, Leonel E. Ruano, 21, of 357 Faneuil St., Brighton, was arrested for vandalizing property, the officer reports the other man was uncooperative and resisted his efforts to control the situation, Paul Kofi-Fleyn, 21, of 44 Forest Ave, was arrested for disorderly conduct.
