Emergency Response and Crime Report

11:14 a.m.: school investigation, Westfield Middle School South, 30 W. Silver St., a school resource officer reports that an administrator advised him that he had seen a non-student who has previously been served with a “no trespassing” order for the school among a group of boys surrounding and menacing a younger student, a criminal complaint was filed;
2:27 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Mill Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed and used radar to determine it was traveling at 42 mph in a 30 mph zone, the vehicle was stopped and a routine check revealed that the operator was the subject of an outstanding warrant, Sarah B. Pliska, 34, of 410 Meadow St., Agawam, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, speeding and on the warrant;
3:56 p.m.: found property, Whispering Wind Road, a caller reports a bicycle was left on her property for several days and the responding officer reports the woman said that when she found it about a week ago she put it in her garage to keep it out of the rain, the woman said that she has since queried her neighbors but has been unable to find its owner, the bike was transported to the station for safe keeping;
6:26 p.m.: annoying phone calls, Montgomery Road, a resident came to the station to report she has been receiving annoying phone calls at her home and workplace, the responding officer reports the woman was advised of the protocols for recording and identifying unwanted calls;
6:03 p.m.: disturbance, Powdermill Village, 126 Union St., a caller reports a male party is upset and damaging property, the responding officer reports he arrived to hear yelling inside the residence but there was no response at the door, the officer reports a maintenance worker allowed him access and he entered to find a male party who immediately took a fighting stance and did not comply with instructions to get o the floor, the man was eventually subdued but when the officer turned his attention to the victim the man kicked another officer at the scene, the victim said that the man had damaged furnishings and punched her repeatedly, she said the man took and broke her phone when she attempted to call police, Gregory Hoskins, 36, of 126 Union St., was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship, assault and battery on a police officer, intimidating a witness and vandalizing property, during the booking process the man was found to be in possession of a Class E substance and was also charged accordingly;
7:08 p.m.: assault, West School Street, a caller reports she is at the hospital with her sister who was assaulted by her boyfriend, the responding officer reports that the victim said that she had returned home with her boyfriend and was putting groceries away when the man approached her and started pummeling her for no apparent reason, the man was not found at his residence and officers applied for a warrant;
7:21 p.m.: vandalism, Powdermill Village, 126 Union St., a caller reports her vehicle was vandalized, the responding officer reports the woman said that she had parked her car in her assigned parking space and when she returned she found what appears to be a name scratched into the paint of her vehicle.
