12:23 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street, a patrol officer reports a routine check revealed that the registration of a vehicle seen operating had been revoked for lack of insurance, the vehicle was stopped and the operator’s license was found to be suspended, Mark J. Gilmore, 37, of 967 Huntington Road, Worthington, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for operating an uninsured motor vehicle;
12:38 a.m.: suspicious vehicle, Westgate Plaza, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle parked in the plaza where the stores were all closed and when he stopped he was approached by a male party who exited the vehicle and questioned his intentions, the officer noticed that the man and his female companion attempted to conceal open cans of beer which they were required to dispose of although no citation was issued, the vehicle then left the area, the officer noted that the operator was found to have previously been charged with possession of burglarious tools and assault and battery on a police officer;
8:23 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Springdale Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the plates on the truck were found to have been issued to another vehicle, the truck was found to be unregistered and was towed to the police impound yard;
9:31 p.m.: accident, Southwick Road, a caller reports a male party was stuck by a vehicle in a gas station parking lot, the responding officer reports he learned that the man had been walking behind a vehicle when it backed out of a parking space and struck him, the man was transported to Noble Hospital where he was treated and released;
9:52 a.m.: school investigation, Sackett Street, a school resource officer reports a student showed him a brief cell phone video depicting a snippet of a fight between a Westfield Vocational-Technical High School student and another boy, the officer reports he spoke with both participants and learned that the fight had been sparked by items posted to a social networking web site, each party said that he had no continuing issues with the other person;
10:30 a.m.: animal complaint, Apremont Way, the animal control officer reports she took custody of a stray dog found running loose on Apremont Way;
1:22 p.m.: found property, Crown Street, a letter carrier reports finding two bags of personal items including checkbooks and credit cards, the responding officer reports the items had previously been reported to be stolen and they were surrendered to the detective investigating the thefts;
2:43 p.m.: arrest, Maple Street, pursuant to an ongoing narcotics investigation a warrant was executed and a marijuana growing operation was discovered in the residence, in addition, one of the residents was found to be in possession of eight bottles of liquid testosterone and a hypodermic syringe, Todd M. Whitehead, 32, and Mario R. Navone, 34, both of 18 Maple St., were each arrested for cultivation of marijuana, Navone was also charged with possession of a Class E drug and was also arrested on an outstanding warrant;
4:06 p.m.: larceny, Main Street, the manager of a Main Street drug store reports a female shoplifter left the store, the responding officer reports he was told the suspect filled a shopping basket with merchandise estimated to be worth $200-$300 and left the store without making payment, the security video will be examined;
4:28 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Mill Street, a patrol officer reports he stopped a minivan seen operating with the sliding side door open, the officer reports the operator said that she opened the door because she is claustrophobic, the woman was advised to close the door when the vehicle is in motion;
7:50 p.m.: incapacitated person, South Broad Street, a caller reports a male party is laying on the grass behind the South Middle School, the responding officer reports he was unable to awaken the man and firefighters were asked to respond, the man eventually responded and said that he was drunk so he took a nap, the man was transported to Noble Hospital.
