7:51 a.m.: animal complaint, Franklin Street at Allen Avenue, an animal control officer reports she took custody of the remains of a small white and tan intact male wire haired terrier dog;
12:22 p.m.: larceny, Franklin Street, a community policing officer reports he was approached by a man who reported that his credit card had been stolen some time after he used it at a Franklin Street restaurant and that it had been used at an Elm Street liquor store, the CPO reports he and the owner of the liquor store reviewed video of three incidents in which the card was used there and both identified the suspect, see next entry;
5:51 p.m.: fraud, Elm Street, a liquor store clerk reports that a person she had been advised had been involved in incidents of credit card fraud was in the store attempting to make a purchase with the same credit card, the responding officer reports Shakeem Scott, 35, of 65 Colonial Drive, Springfield, was arrested for two charges of credit card fraud valued at less than $250 and charges of receiving a stolen credit card and attempting to commit a crime;
6:57 p.m.: attempted breaking and entering, Hampden Street, a caller reports her husband told her that the front door of their rental property was broken, the responding office reports the victim showed him a foot print on the door apparently caused by an unsuccessful attempt to kick in the door, no entry was gained and nothing was stolen;
9:17 p.m.: attempted breaking and entering, Christopher Drive, a caller reports he was awakened by a male party pounding on his door who said “Pizza delivery” when queried, the caller had not ordered pizza so did not open the door but left via another door in an unsuccessful attempt to confront the man who fled.
