Major crime and incident report

7:20 a.m.: Accident, North Elm Street and Holyoke Road. Police received a report of an accident with one operator reporting injuries. A 2016 Volkswagen Jetta and a 2016 Subaru Forester were involved. Two people were transported to Baystate Noble Hospital via Westfield Fire personnel and ambulance following the accident and two tow trucks were requested.

10:29 a.m.: Motor vehicle violation and arrest, Main Street. Police reported that they had allegedly initially stopped a vehicle for a loud exhaust. Following that, police reported the operator reportedly had a suspended license. Police arrested Joshua E. Perez, 21, of Springfield, and charged him with operating motor vehicle with license suspended, modified/improper exhaust and tire thread depth violation.

12:26 p.m.: Larceny, Main Street. A person reported to police that their medication was allegedly stolen from their mailbox.

6 p.m.: Larceny, Pizza Towne Main Street. According to police, a person reported that someone, allegedly a “Hispanic male wearing glasses and a hat” took a tip jar from the counter and left on foot. According to police, there were no cameras and no suspects.

7:02 p.m.: Arrest, Princeton Street. Police reported that they had arrested someone in relation to a stabbing that occurred the Saturday night previous. Police arrested Vitaliy V. Borodin, 46, of Westfield, and charged him with assault and battery with dangerous weapon and assault with intent to murder or maim. The arrest was first reported in The Westfield News Dec. 1.

9:39 p.m.: Accident, Franklin Street. Police received a report of a two-vehicle accident with a possible injury and with airbags deployed in one vehicle. One person was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital via Westfield Fire ambulance and personnel. Two tow trucks were also requested.
