Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012
8:03 a.m.: vandalism, Hampden Street, a caller reports two tires were slashed, the responding officer reports the victim said that the two left side tires on his vehicle were slashed sometime after 1 a.m.;
8:11 a.m.: vandalism, Mechanic Street, a caller reports two tires were slashed, the responding officer reports the victim said that the two tires on the vehicle were slashed overnight;
10:14 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
11:18 a.m.: larceny, Governor’s Center, 66 Broad St., an employee reports money was stolen from a resident, the responding officer reports a resident said that $40 was stolen from her purse;
2:01 p.m.: larceny, Main Street, a caller reports a relative’s wallet was stolen at a supermarket, the responding officer reports the victim said that she inadvertently left her wallet at a supermarket ATM and when she returned in search of it she found it gone;
4:23 p.m.: breaking and entering, Wyben Road, a caller reports her home was broken into and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that she left about 6 a.m. and returned to find forcible entry had been made via a window and her home was ransacked, the case remains under investigation by the detective bureau;
5:55 p.m.: fire, Henry’s Trailer Park, 868 Southampton Road, a caller reports outside burning, the responding firefighters report a resident said he was getting ready to cook burgers and was advised to extinguish his fire as soon as he finished cooking, a second caller at 7:16 p.m. reports the fire is still burning, the responding firefighters report the man said that he did not realize there was a time limit, the firefighters extinguished the fire;
6:42 p.m.: assist citizen, Main Street, a resident came to the station to request assistance gathering property from a residence he is barred from by a protective order, the responding officer reports the man gathered possessions without incident;
7:41 p.m.: vandalism, St. Paul; Street, a caller reports he saw a group of children throwing pumpkins at a residence, the responding officer reports the resident said that he did not see who smashed his pumpkins and a search of the area yielded no suspects;

Friday, Nov. 2. 2012
5:54 a.m.: assault, Main Street, a caller reports he was assaulted about 3 a.m., the responding officer reports that the caller said that while walking on Main Street a truck stopped and an Orange Street resident he knows only by his first name exited and choked him, the man said he broke free and the man choked him again before leaving the area, the officer spoke with a clerk at a nearby convenience store who said that when the victim came into the store he did not appear to be very upset and did not want police to be notified;
11:22 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Pochassic Street, a caller reports a neighbor has blown leaves into the street, the responding officer reports he found a large amount of leaves and lawn debris in the street and against he caller’s fence, the officer reports the suspect agreed to remove the leaves from the street and fence within 24 hours and was advised that failure to follow through with the agreement would result in a city ordinance violation citation;
6:02 p.m.: trespassing, Sergeant Dion Way, a caller reports four boys with a dog are trespassing on his property, the responding officer reports the boys ran into a wooded area but he was able to catch up with one of them, the boy identified his friends and the officer spoke with his parents who agreed to inform the parents of the other boys so all the parents can prevent future trespassing incidents;
7:52 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed and used radar to determine that the vehicle was traveling at 67 mph in a 45 mph zone, the vehicle was stopped and the officer reports he saw the operator concealing something under a seat, the officer found a bottle of liquor but the operator passed a field sobriety test, the open container of liquor was confiscated;
11:51 p.m.: assault, Park Square Townhouses, 140 Union Street, a woman came to the station to report her 14-year-old daughter was assaulted by another girl whose parents instigated and did not intervene in the incident, the responding officer reports the girl said that while she was at a friend’s residence the other girl punched her, the victim’s mother said that she does not wish to pursue criminal charges but wants the incident documented;
11:52 p.m.: liquor law violation, Phelps Avenue at Meadow Street, community policing officers report they discovered two persons with open containers of alcohol in public.
