8:32 a.m.: breaking and entering, Prospect Street Extension, a caller reports two of her vehicles were entered overnight and property was stolen, the responding officer reports that the caller said that two unlocked company vehicles which had been parked at the address were entered overnight and two GPS devices, power tools and a small amount of cash were stolen;
11:27 a.m.: found property, Lower Sandy Hill Road, a caller reports a bicycle has apparently been abandoned in a wooded area near a dirt road which branches off Lower Sandy Hill Road, the bike was transported to the station for safe keeping;
11:53 a.m.: larceny, East Mountain Road, a caller reports a leaf blower was stolen overnight, the responding officer reports the caller said that he parked his pickup truck in his driveway about 10 p.m. and about 10 a.m. the next day found that a leaf blower which had been in the bed of the truck had been stolen, the victim said that a tube type safety gate was also stolen from the truck;
1:23 p.m.: suspicious property, Whitney Playground, Shepard Street, a caller reports seeing what appears to be a homeless encampment at the playground, the responding officer reports he consulted the community policing officer assigned to the area who said that he is aware of the tent and that the owner is currently residing on Crown Street, the CP officer reports that the DPW is scheduled to strike the camp site on Monday;
1:59 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and it was towed to the police impound yard;
3:47 p.m.: animal complaint, New Broadway at Pequot Point Road, a caller reports that while his wife and daughter were walking the family’s dog a neighbor’s dog rushed up and attacked his dog and wife, the responding officer reports that the woman said that a known pit bull dog ran up and attacked her Irish setter dog and when she tried to separate them the pit bull bit her hand, the owner of the other dog said it got loose while he was tying it out, the woman declined medical treatment, the animal control officer was advised of the incident for further investigation;
6:47 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have registration revoked for lack of insurance, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
9:59 p.m.: officer wanted, Fowler Avenue, a caller reports he was threatened with a knife by a person with whom he has had ongoing difficulties, see story in the Saturday edition of The Westfield News;
11:01 p.m.: disturbance, Southampton Road, a caller reports a male party ejected her from his vehicle and left with her property, the responding officer reports that the woman said that an argument began at a bar where she had been drinking with the man and they were traveling on Southampton Road when he threw her cell phone from his vehicle and told her to get out, the woman was transported to her home after stopping at the man’s house where she found her clothing and keys atop her parked vehicle, the woman said that she would retrieve her car the next day.
