6:23 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Court Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have registration revoked for lack of insurance, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
9:07 a.m.: vandalism, South Maple Street, a resident reports via the on-line reporting option that a tire of her vehicle was seen to be losing air on Sunday and was repaired, the woman said that on Monday she discovered that after she moved her vehicle the tire again appeared to be losing air and when she again had it repaired she was told it had been intentionally punctured;
9:25 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street at Charles Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s license was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
9:28 a.m.: vandalism, East Main Street, a caller reports her car was vandalized while she was shopping, the responding officer reports the woman said that she parked her car an East Main Street parking lot and returned about 15 minutes later to find it had been keyed;
1:54 p.m.: accident, Western Avenue, a caller reports a bicyclist was struck by motor vehicle and is injured, dual response dispatched, see story in the Wednesday edition of The Westfield News;
5:14 p.m.: larceny, Elm Street, a caller reports that two iPods were stolen from his store, the responding officer reports the caller said that a customer asked to look at two iPods and walked out of the store with them without making payment, the clerk said that the suspect is an established customer and his identity information had been recorded in a previous transaction;
8:19 p.m.: arrest, West Springfield, a detective supervisor reports an investigation into a previous incident of shoplifting led to a West Springfield address where a suspect was interviewed, the man was seen to be wearing the same clothing which was described during the incident and eventually admitted his culpability, Nicholas R. Foley, 23, of 263 Central St., Springfield, was arrested for larceny of property valued more than $250;
10:50 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Russell Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;

2:16 a.m.: arrest, Sackett Street, officers seeking the subject of outstanding warrants saw a male party on the street who verbally identified himself as someone other than the suspect but when the officer approached closely enough he recognized the man as the suspect, Norman Oliver, 50, of 9 Sackett St., was arrested on four warrants;
3:06 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Fowler Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a parked vehicle found to have expired registration, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
8:44 a.m.: larceny, Southampton Road, a caller reports about $300 in cash was stolen from her motel room, the responding officer reports the woman said that she returned to her room after an errand and found an envelope of cash to be missing, the officer reports the motel management found that a review of the motel’s security video shows that nobody entered the caller’s door while she was gone, the complainant said that she believes a neighbor entered via the balcony, the officer spoke with the resident of the next room who denied entering the room and said that the complainant has accused her of similar offenses in the past;
12:51 p.m.: fraud, Westfield Police Department, 15 Washington Street, a detective reports he investigated a check presented to police as payment of a firearms license which was found to have been written on a closed account, the detective reports that the applicant had been notified and gave the clerk another check written on the same account, a detective spoke with the man who came to the station with cash to redeem his checks;
2:43 p.m.: vandalism, Spruce Street, a caller reports the rear window of her granddaughter’s car had been smashed overnight, the caller does not require a formal report but wants the incident documented;
5:07 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Springfield Road, a patrol officer requests a tow for an unregistered motor vehicle, the vehicle was towed;
7:11 p.m.: illegal dumping, East Main Street, a caller reports that a person is dumping used tires at an East Main Street tire store, the officer spoke with a store employee who said that nobody should be dumping at that time but said that the man in question had paid to dump 22 tires earlier, the man told the officer that the tires he was dumping were the ones he had paid for but the officer noted that he had many more than 22 tires in the truck, the man was required to return the tires to his truck and deal with the business when it is open;
8:03 p.m.: animal complaint, Paper Mill Road, a caller reports four bears have been in her yard for 40 minutes, the responding officer reports the bears which had been in a tree left upon his arrival.
