Emergency response and crime report

1:16 a.m.: officer wanted, a caller reports that she heard something break and believes that somebody may be inside her residence, the caller said that she and her husband are locked inside their bedroom and there are no cats or children in the residence, the responding officer reports a thorough inspection of the house revealed nothing amiss;
8:03 a.m.: accident, Union Street, at Moseley Avenue, a caller reports an accident involving a small school bus, the responding officer reports a vehicle entering Union Street from Moseley Avenue struck a van transporting pre-school children, the van operator and a one-year-old child were transported to Baystate Medical Center where no information was available, a four-year-old child and two-year-old child were transported to Noble Hospital where both were treated and released;
9:33 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a Traffic Bureau officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the pickup truck was towed;
1:38 p.m.: fraud, Montgomery Street, a resident came to the station to report that she found suspicious paperwork after tenants moved out, the responding officer reports the complainant said that after her daughter and her boyfriend moved out she found documents which indicate that her signature had been forged on applications for credit, the woman suggested a suspect who she believes may be involved;
1:53 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a Traffic Bureau officer requests a tow for a vehicle found to have expired registration, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
2:07 p.m.: school investigation, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, a school resource officer reports two girls were reportedly involved in a physical altercation before school, the SRO’s investigation is incomplete;
5:37 p.m.: animal complaint, Columbus Apartments, 97 Elm St., a caller reports his girlfriend’s cat is attacking her, the responding officer reports that the couple said that the cat has a mean side and they can no longer care for him, the officer reports the cat allowed the officer to pet him and did not display any aggression but the resident insisted that she cannot keep the cat in her apartment for another night,
the animal control officer responded and transported the cat to the Westfield Homeless Cat Project;
10:27 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports that the owner of a vehicle seen operating on East Main Street was found to have a revoked license, the car was stopped and the operator was not found to be the owner, the vehicle was immediately released.
