12:30 a.m.: disorderly conduct, Arnold Street, a supervisory officer reports he spoke with the staff at an Arnold Street bar who told him of a customer who had been denied service because he was intoxicated who later attempted to return to the bar, the employees said that when the man was denied entry he attempted to enter by climbing over a patio fence and then harassed patrons at the door, a ‘No trespassing’ order was filed and a friend took custody him;
1:57 a.m.: larceny, Conner Avenue, a patrol officer reports a resident advised him of a larceny, the officer reports that the complainant said that she heard the sounds of someone smashing pumpkins outside and investigated to find a 300-pound lawn sculpture had been stolen from her yard;
2:31 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Orange Street at Sackett Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a male party urinate on the sidewalk, a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
3:18 a.m.: accident, North Road, a caller reports a rollover accident, dual response dispatched, the responding officer reports that vehicle did not roll over in the single-vehicle crash but the operator appeared to be intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test, Juan M. Caludio, 31, of 55 Laurel St., Springfield, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation, he was found to be in possession of marijuana and a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
8:08 a.m.: vandalism, Southampton Road, a caller from a Southampton Road business reports that the glass front door was shattered overnight, the responding officer reports an impact broke glass on the upper part of the door valued at about $400 but the glass did not fall apart, no instrument which could he been used to break the glass was found, no entry was gained;
8:47 a.m.: vandalism, Lozier Avenue, a caller reports somebody spray-painted her car overnight, the responding officer reports the caller showed him the side of her vehicle which had been defaced with an obscene graphic and an explicit vulgarity in brown spray paint, the woman said that she believes three women with whom she has an ongoing dispute are responsible;
10:07 a.m.: assist other agency, Cherry Street, a member of the Department of Youth Services apprehension team called to report that an attempt would be made to take a known person into custody, the responding officer reports the team took custody of the youth and transported him to the East Mountain Road DYS facility without incident;
2:20 p.m.: city ordinance violation, Otis Street, a code enforcement officer report he and inspectors from the building, health and fire departments inspected a vacant property and found numerous violations, the officer reports a representative of the owner was contacted who said that upon receipt of a report the violations will be addressed;
5:39 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a patrol officer request a tow for a vehicle found to be operating with expired and non-renewable registration, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
6:39 p.m.: larceny, Franklin Street, a caller reports her bicycle was stolen, see story in the Monday edition of The Westfield News;
10:00 p.m.: disturbance, Washington Street, a resident assistant at a Westfield State University housing unit reports that five male parties came to the residence and refused to leave when he instructed them to go, the complainant said that the men threatened him, an officer escorted the man back to the residence where he pointed out the group, one person was seen holding a can of beer and was found to be 19-years-old, the man was detained and found to have 10 full cans of beer in his backpack, Michael J. Green, 19, of 32 Savoy Ave., was arrested for being a person younger than the legal drinking age in possession of liquor;
10:12 p.m.: suspicious activity, Montgomery Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle keeping pace with a pedestrian and found that a mother was trying to convince her adult daughter to return home, the officer reports the women went separate ways and the younger woman was provided a courtesy transport;
10:19 p.m.: liquor law violation, Washington Street, a supervisory officer reports that he observed two persons who were found to be younger than the legal drinking age carrying containers of liquor in common areas of a student residence building, city ordinance violation citations were filed;
10:21 p.m.: liquor law violation, Church Street, an officer patrolling in an unmarked vehicle reports he observed a male party conceal something in his clothing and approached to inquire what was hidden, the young man showed the officer two cans of beer and said that he was 19-years-old, a city ordinance violation citation was issued, citations for similar offenses were also issued on Mechanic and Atwater streets and liquor was discarded.
