12:27 a.m.: disturbance, Elm Street, community policing officers reports they encountered a college aged party and dispersed 50-60 participants, the residents were advised of the possible consequences of similar incidents;
12:45 a.m.: noise complaint, Jefferson St., a caller reports a loud college aged party, the responding community policing officer reports about 40 persons were dispersed, one city ordinance violation citation for under age drinking was filed;
12:55 a.m.; officer wanted, Montgomery Road, a caller reports a male party destroyed his neighbor’s mailbox and when he remonstrated with man he became belligerent, the responding officer reports a male party was provided a courtesy transport to his mother’s home and said that he would be staying inside for the rest of the night;
1:23 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Arnold Street, a community policing officer reports a liquor law violation, a city ordinance violation citation was filed;
2:12 a.m.; disturbance, Elm Street, a caller from a pizza restaurant said that an intoxicated customer was creating a disturbance, the responding office reports the man was deemed to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was placed in protective custody;
2:38 a.m.: accident, Shaker Road, a caller reports he came upon a car crash and believes the operator is deceased, see story in the Monday edition of The Westfield News;
3:34 a.m.: disturbance, Washington House, a caller reports her intoxicated boyfriend assaulted her after a verbal altercation, dual response dispatched, the responding officer reports the caller said that during an argument her boyfriend threw a pumpkin at her which struck the back of her head and caused her to fall down a flight of stairs, criminal complaints for assault and battery in a domestic relationship and for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a pumpkin, were filed;
9:15 a.m.: assist citizen, Laro Road, a caller reports keys are locked inside a vehicle with the engine running, the responding firefighters report entry was made;
9:39 a.m.; found property, Hanover Street, a caller reports finding a bicycle on his property, the responding officer reports the bike was transported to the station for safe keeping;
12:12 p.m.: animal complaint, Joseph Avenue, a caller reports a possum under a bush in her yard appears to have been struck by a car but is still alive, the responding officer reports the animal was obviously severely injured and was dispatched, a use of force form was filed;
3:17 p.m.: vandalism, Holland Avenue, a resident reports on-line a case of vandalism, the resident reports that a window on her back porch was holed, apparently by a BB or pellet impact, no projectile was found;
3:17 p.m.: fire, New Broadway, a caller reports neighbors burning trash are creating a noisome situation in the neighborhood, the responding firefighters report the resident was burning construction debris but said he was starting a barbeque, the resident was advised of the pertinent city ordinances and extinguished the fire;
4:18 p.m.: assist citizen, Union Street, a caller reports keys are locked inside a vehicle with the engine running, the responding firefighters report entry was made;
6:37 p.m.: suspicious activity, Valley View Drive at Valley View Road, caller reports seeing male party dump several trash bags down an embankment toward the river, the responding officer reports the bags appear to be full of leaves and vegetable matter, the officer spoke with owner of the vehicle seen and advised him that he may not dump anything on any property he does not own, the man agreed to remove the bags
11:36 p.m.: breaking and entering, Woodmont St., a caller reports her apartment was broken into, the responding office reports the caller said she returned home to find pry marks on her door which was wide open, the caller said that nothing appears to be missing;

12:47 a.m.: animal complaint, North Road, a caller reports an owl struck his windshield and is injured, the dispatcher located and spoke with a raptor rehabilitator who agreed to care for the bird, the responding officer reports that when an animal control officer attempted to capture the bird it flew out of reach and was last seen roosting in a tree about 50 feet above the ground;
12:53 p.m.: found property, Woodcliff Drive, a caller reports finding several street signs on his front lawn, the responding officer reports seven street signs from various parts of the city were found, the signs were transported to the station;
2:54 p.m.: breaking and entering, Ravine Circle, a caller reports his unlocked garage was entered and a bicycle was stole, the responding officer reports the caller said that he left about 6:20 a.m. and returned about 45 minutes later to find his garage door open, the man said that he may have left the garage open, a mountain bike valued at about $400 was the only thing found to be missing from the garage;
3:10 p.m.: breaking and entering, Southampton Road, a caller reports her vehicle was broken into in a restaurant’s parking lot, the responding officer reports the caller said that when he returned to his car he found a side window had been broken while his family was inside the restaurant and a backpack containing a laptop computer, an iPad and accessories had been stolen;
5:47 p.m.: accident, East Mountain Road, a caller reports two motorcycles collided with injuries in the woods, see story in the Monday edition of The Westfield News;
6:30 p.m.: unwanted guest, Frederick Street, a caller reports a family member is not welcome but will not leave, the responding officer reports the young woman was allowed to collect four bags of property from the residence but insisted on yelling in the street and creating a disturbance despite repeated requests to moderate her behavior, Maria Santiago, 19, of 27 Collins St., was arrested for disorderly conduct.
