12:36 p.m.: trespassing, Whitney Playground, a patrol officer reports hearing a party at the playground, the officer reports seven adult males were found in the playground and were advised that the city parks and playgrounds are closed after dusk, the men left the area;
2:44 a.m.: parking violation, Summer Street, a pair of officers reports a parking citation was issued on Summer Street, the same team of officers reports that similar parking citations were subsequently issued on Lincoln Street, Green Avenue and West School Street;
12:27 p.m.: vandalism, Western Avenue, a Westfield State University police officer reports a student complained that her vehicle had been tampered with while parked at a church parking lot near campus, the responding officer reports the victim said that she had parked the car in the church lot on Wednesday and on Friday found that the gas tank cover had been pried open and soil was found around the filler cap making her think something may have been introduced to the gas tank;
5:12 p.m.; breaking and entering, Avery Street, a detective reports that he investigated a video game system which was found and determined that it had been stolen from a house which was broken into on Avery Street;
6:07 p.m.: disturbance, King Street, a resident came to the station to complain that she was assaulted during an argument with her boyfriend, the responding officer reports the woman said that she had been arguing with her boyfriend while driving and pulled over into a parking lot where, after they exited the vehicle, the man grabber her arm, put her in a headlock and bit her face, the officer notes signs of injury, the man had left the area and Springfield police were asked to check his Indian Orchard residence but he was not found, the officer reports criminal complaints will be filed;
7:04 p.m.: disturbance, Casimir Street, a caller reports his 17-year-old son is fighting with him and he wants him to leave his home, the responding officer reports he found that the caller had been arguing with his wife when his son intervened, the man objected and tried to physically eject his son which led to an altercation which left his son with a laceration to his nose and bite mark on his calf, Joseph A. Bowhaker Jr., 37, of 15 Casimir St., was arrested for assault and battery in domestic relationship;
7:30 p.m.: breaking and entering, Elm Street, a caller reports that two armed persons invaded his home resulting in a struggle in which three shots were fired, an extensive police response which included at least 14 city officers and two State Police K-9 teams found no evidence of intruders, the caller was transported to Noble Hospital for evaluation;
8:23 p.m.: assault, Orange Street, a youth came to the station to complain that she was assaulted when she got off the school bus, the responding officer reports the girl said that she was assaulted by a former friend who claimed the sweater she was wearing, the girl’s boyfriend intervened to end the altercation, the school resource officer was informed;
10:38 p.m.: suspicious activity, Orange Street a caller reports high school aged youths appear to be drinking alcohol in a parked vehicle, the responding officer reports three youths admitted drinking before and during a school dance, a resident came to take custody of her daughter and another girl was transported to her home;
11:48 p.m.: liquor law violation, Mechanic Street, a community policing officer reports he issued a city ordinance violation citation for a liquor law violation.
