1:42 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Court Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle following less than a car length behind another vehicle for about 200 yards, the vehicle was stopped and a routine check revealed that the operator’s license was suspended, Jeremy Willson Matos, 25, of 11 Grove Ave., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for following too closely;
7:58 a.m.: vandalism, Crown Street, a caller reports pumpkins were smashed at her home overnight, the caller does not require a formal report but wants the incident documented;
8:17 a.m.; vandalism, Colonial Pine Acres, 50 Southampton Road, a caller reports the rear tires on her vehicle were slashed, the responding officer reports the victim said that some time after 6:15 p.m. Tuesday the two rear tires of her vehicle were slashed while it was parked in her designated parking space at the apartment complex;
12:53 p.m.: loitering, Park Square, a patrol officer reports he encountered youths with skateboards at the city’s Green, the two teen aged boys were identified and advised that skateboarding is prohibited at Park Square, the duo left the area;
3:03 p.m.: larceny, Renaissance Manor of Westfield, a caller reports the theft of two digital devices, the responding officer reports the caller said that two iPod Touch devices valued at $210 each were stolen from their charging dock in the rehabilitation department at the facility;
4:32 p.m.: fire, Ellsworth Street, a person came to the station to report a burning complaint, the responding firefighters report the resident was advised of the pertinent city ordinances and extinguished the fire;
8:15 p.m.: assault, Henry’s Trailer Park, 868 Southampton Road, a caller reports a neighbor assaulted another resident, the responding officer reports that she was assaulted by a known party who punched and kicked her face while wearing heavy work boots, the officer noted signs of injury on the woman’s face and arm, the suspect denied hitting anybody but was seen to be wearing thick-soled work boots, John Doran, 47, of 868 Southampton Road, was arrested for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon;
8:36 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Union Street, a patrol officer reports a routine check of a motor vehicle revealed that it had never been inspected, the vehicle was stopped on Union Street and a routine check revealed that the operator was the subject of an outstanding warrant, Jonathan Rivera, 22, of 134 Union St., was arrested on the warrant;
11:08 p.m.: suspicious vehicle, Charles Street at Franklin St., a caller reports a suspicious vehicle has been parked at the crosswalk for about ten minutes, a radar enforcement officer reports the caller is referring to his vehicle.
