10:04 a.m.: found property, Elm Street at Thomas Street, a resident came to the station to surrender a wallet found on Elm Street, the responding officer reports the owner of the wallet could not be immediately contacted and it was stored for safekeeping;
10:09 a.m.: disturbance, Main Street, a caller reports she received a call from her sister who is afraid because her former boyfriend is outside her residence and she fears he may enter, the responding officer reports he found that the couple had been living together for a few months but broke up the night before, the officer report the male party spent the night elsewhere and found the locks on his residence had been changed when he returned to gather his belongings, the officer reports that the man made forcible entry to his own apartment and the officer stood by while he retrieved property, the officer noted that the man’s vehicle had been left in the driveway overnight and the woman admitted vandalizing the vehicle by smashing a pumpkin on it, dumping a potted plant on it and breaking two candles on the car, both parties were advised of their protective order options;
12:02 p.m.: vandalism, Meeting House Commons, a caller reports her vehicle was egged, the responding officer reports he found one egg had been smashed on the vehicle, the officer reports he advised the caller of the online reporting option and the man said he would try it, see next entry;
12:34 p.m.: vandalism, Meeting House Commons, a resident reports via the online incident reporting system that he heard noises outside and investigated to find his vehicle and a neighbor’s vehicle had been struck by eggs in the apartment complex’s parking area, no lasting damage was done;
6:18 p.m.: preventative attention, East Mountain Road, an officer reports he heard rumors of a fight expected at a high school Halloween party which was planned at an East Mountain Road address, the officer spoke with the minor resident who said that his parents were away until Friday, the officer reports he observed several empty coolers near the door, the officer reports the youth decided after their conversation to cancel the party, the officer reports he made plans to check the address during the evening and advised the resident of the consequences of a call for police services at his home;
6:53 p.m.: lost child, Gloria Drive, a caller reports that a child trick-or-treating is lost and does not know his address, the responding officer reports the boy’s mother was located and said that she lost track of the boy when he ran off with other trick-or-treaters and she was not able to keep up with him
7:10 p.m.: vandalism, Plantation Circle, a caller reports his house was egged, the responding officer reports the man said that the vandalism may be due to past issues with neighbors but the officer noted that any of the hundreds of trick-or-treaters in the area could also be responsible, a second call was received at 8:06 p.m. from the same address complaining of a second egg assault, a search of the area revealed only a large number of residents engaged in Halloween activities;
8:32 p.m.: disturbance, Highland Avenue at Western Avenue, a caller reports the occupants of a vehicle are engaged in a rolling domestic disturbance, the responding officer reports the described vehicle was stopped and the operator’s extreme mood swings prompted him to ask her to perform a field sobriety test, the officer reports that the woman became disorderly during the test and was arrested, during the booking process the woman was found to be in possession of Class B, D, and E drugs, Rhonda L. Guevin, 39, of 31 Basket St., Huntington, was arrested for disorderly conduct, possession of a Class B drug, possession of a Class E drug and possession of a Class D drug;
10:03 p.m.: liquor law violation, Church Street, a community policing officer reports he encountered a person in possession of an open container of alcohol in public, a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
10:46 p.m.: disturbance, Washington Street, the community policing supervisor requests assistance at the Westfield State University housing building, the officer reports that residents were attempting to persuade a large group of mostly costumed college aged youths to leave the building, the officer reports that ultimately about 100 persons were removed from the building;
11:07 p.m.: disturbance, Mechanic Street at Thomas Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered a fight, the officer reports that when he separated the combatants one cooperated but the other continued to be unruly yelling at the officer and bystanders and calling them racists, the tenants advised the officer that the suspect had been attempting to crash the party and had punched out a window, Alphonso Eric James Hines-Vanterpool, 20, of 41 Woodview Drive, Brookfield, Conn., was arrested for disorderly conduce and wanton destruction of property valued less than $250;
11:52 p.m.: disturbance, Mechanic St., a caller reports a college-aged party is disturbing her peace, the responding officer reports the bulk of the guests were dispersed.
