4:42 a.m.: incapacitated person, North Elm Street, a caller reports the operator of a vehicle in the drive-up line at a fast food restaurant appears to have passed out at the wheel, the responding officer reports the operator was found to be unable to care for himself and he was placed in protective custody;
7:56 a.m.: breaking and entering, Loomis Ridge, a caller reports her vehicle was broken into overnight, the responding officer reports an unlocked vehicle in the driveway was entered but nothing was stolen, two locked vehicles also in the driveway were not disturbed;
8:38 a.m.: fire, Yankee Village Plaza, a caller reports a fire at a store, the responding firefighters report patrons of a restaurant saw a light fixture in front of nearby store burning and used a fire extinguisher from the restaurant to knock down the fire, the firefighters opened the roof to check for extensions of the fire but found none;
12:22 p.m.: assault, Chapman Playground, St. Paul Street, a caller reports her friend said he was stabbed by a stranger, the responding officer reports the victim was found on the trail behind the playground and described an unknown male party who he said assaulted him with a knife, the man had suffered lacerations and was transported to Baystate Medical Center, the incident remains under investigation;
12:52 p.m.: assault, East Mountain Road, a caller reports he saw a woman get assaulted and kicked out of a car, the responding officer reports the woman said that she had been involved in an argument with her fiancee when he stopped the car and told her to get out of it, the woman declined to cooperate further;
3:52 p.m.: found property, Belmont Street, a caller reports a yellow bicycle has apparently been abandoned on her property, the bike was transported to the station for safe keeping;
4:34 p.m.: breaking and entering, Green Avenue, a caller reports a known party broke into the basement door of a residence, the responding officer reports the suspect found in the building’s basement lives next door to the property, the woman became irate and tried to kick and bite the officer when told she was under arrest, Lyndsay M. Beaumier, 32, of 19 Green Ave., Westfield, was arrested for trespass, disorderly conduct and assault and battery on a police officer;
6:28 p.m.: breaking and entering, Loomis Ridge, a caller reports his vehicles were broken into and his wallet was stolen, the responding officer reports two unlocked vehicles in the driveway were entered and a wallet was stolen from one of them;
6:40 p.m.: fraud, Washington Street, a caller reports a friend was scammed for $2,000 and the scammer keeps calling, the responding officer reports that the victim had sent the money as gift cards, see story in the Sept. 4 issue of The Westfield News;
7:00 p.m.: larceny, Murphy Circle, a caller reports property was stolen from his home while a house-sitter was staying there, the responding officer reports the victim said that while he was away a relative stayed at his home and upon his return he found video game accessories to be missing, the officer reports the house-sitter said that he had hosted a party during his relative’s absence and he does not know who might be responsible for the theft;
8:04 p.m.: fire, Waterford Drive, a caller reports seeing smoke and flames, the responding firefighters report that the caller had seen a neighbor’s legal cooking fire.
