1:28 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, School Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered a parked vehicle with registration found to be expired, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
5:39 a.m.: larceny, West Road, a caller reports his motorcycle was stolen from his barn, the responding officer reports that the man said that he had offered the motorcycle for sale on an Internet website and a prospective buyer offered him $500 extra to hold the bike for him for a few days, the man said that a short time later he found the motorcycle to be missing from his barn, the case was referred to the detective bureau;
6:36 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, School Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
9:17 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street at Princeton Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed;
8:48 a.m.: fraud, Hampden Street, a resident came to the station to complain that she was scammed, the responding officer reports the woman said that she received a call from a person who threatened that her benefits would be cut off if she did not send money to him via an electronic transfer, the woman said that she sent a MoneyGram for more than $100 before she realized that the call was fraudulent, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the detective bureau;
10:11 a.m.: breaking and entering, Elm Street, a caller reports that someone broke into her business overnight, the responding officer reports the caller said that she arrived to find items missing from her diner and the adjacent closed bar, the woman said that the doors were intact but when she investigated she found that a cellar hatch which had been nailed shut had been forced open to gain access, the complainant said that $50 was stolen from the diner as was a wall safe but the safe was found, damaged but not opened, in the adjacent bar where six neon advertising signs were missing;
12:18 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street at Washington Street a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the car was towed to the police impound yard;
12:57 p.m.: larceny, Main Street, an employee of a Main Street supermarket reports a shoplifter has been detained in the store, the responding officer reports the employee said that he had observed a woman place merchandise in bags and when she attempted to leave the store without making payment she was detained and merchandise valued at $87.71 was recovered, the woman found to be the subject of an outstanding warrant and was served with a ‘No trespassing’ order, Jayne A. Talbot, 46, of 532 East Mountain Road, was arrested for shoplifting by asportation and on the warrant issued in 2014 by the Worcester District Court;
1:27 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the car was towed to the police impound yard, the operator was provided a courtesy transport to Westfield State University;
2:00 p.m.: animal complaint, South Maple Street, the animal control officer reports she is responding to assist a resident with a bat in her home, the ACO reports the bat was removed;
8:12 p.m.: suspicious activity, Jefferson Street, a caller reports her teenaged son told her that a man outside was showing his private parts, the responding officer reports a naked man on a nearby porch was found, a criminal complaint was filed;
10:49 p.m.: trespassing, Chapman Playground, St. Paul; Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle parked at the playground and investigated to find a female party sitting atop a male party, both were advised that the city’s parks close at dusk and both left the area.
