1:05 a.m.: officer wanted, Arnold Street, a patrol officer reports he was flagged down by a person near an Arnold Street bar, the officer reports the man said that there had been a fight inside the bar when he intervened on his girlfriend’s behalf when a male party began to pay unwanted attention to her and her girlfriends, the man said both he and the suspect were escorted outside and pointed out the man who told the officer he was dancing with random girls when the complainant punched him for no apparent reason, the officer reports the suspect became agitated and was subject to mood swings, the officer took control of the man when he attempted to get at the complainant and the man struggled when the officer and a colleague took him into custody and placed him in a cruiser, Shawn P. Kelly, 26, of 46 Plantation Circle, was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest;
1:52 a.m.: disturbance, Cherry St., a caller reports a male party is beating a female, the responding officer reports he spoke with a woman whose mouth was bleeding and said that she and the suspect had been outside drinking with others but the man became angry when she tried to persuade him to leave and struggled with her before breaking the mirror on her vehicle and then fleeing, the man was found on White Street, Brynn Paquette, 27, of 16 Orchard St., Easthampton, was arrested for malicious destruction of property valued more than $250;
2:26 a.m.: larceny, Elm Street, a caller from a gas station and convenience store reports that three youths came to the store to buy cigarettes and left without paying for the merchandise, the responding officer reports he left a message for the registered owner of the vehicle the suspects left in;
10:19 a.m.: found property, a resident came to the station to surrender an iPod found on Lincoln Street, the phone was stored for safe keeping;
11:50 a.m.: burning complaint, Summit Drive, a deputy fire chief reports he investigated a burning complaint and advised the residents of the pertinent regulations, the homeowner agreed to extinguish the fire;
12:03 p.m.: recovered motor vehicle, Shepard Street, a caller reports a vehicle is parked in front of his home, the respond officer reports a routine check revealed that the car had been reported to be stolen in West Springfield, the owner was notified;
12:09 p.m.: larceny, Hillside Road, a resident came to the station to complain that her credit card has been fraudulently used, the responding officer reports the woman said that charges were made with her credit card number in Florida but she has never been there, the account was closed and the crime was referred to the financial crimes unit of the Detective Bureau;
1:58 p.m.: recreational vehicle complaint, Old Holyoke Road, officers report they observed and stopped a Jeep operating on an ATV trail, the officer reports the operator was advised that the trail in not intended for road-worthy vehicles and he left the area;
2:30 p.m.: assist citizen, Beveridge Boulevard, a caller reports she has locked herself out of her house with her two-year-old daughter inside and the stove in use, the responding firefighters report entry was gained;
5:04 p.m.: vandalism, Mill Street, a caller reports that she encountered a person who was formerly the defendant of a protective order at a neutral site and subsequently discovered that her vehicle had been scratched intentionally, the responding officer reports that the woman said she suspects that the man is responsible although she did not see him do it;
7:04 p.m.: burning complaint, Fowler Street, a caller reports it smells as if a neighbor is burning rubber, the responding firefighters report a resident was found to have a small well contained fire and agreed to extinguish it when advised of the complaint;
9:34 p.m.: burning complaint, Buck Pond Road, a caller reports a large bonfire in the neighborhood, the responding firefighters report the residents were advised of the complaint and extinguished the fire;
9:37 p.m.: disturbance, Elizabeth Avenue, multiple callers reports a large fight with an injured party, see story in the Tuesday edition of The Westfield News;
10:16 p.m.: officer wanted, North Road, a caller from a North Road bar reports an intoxicated patron appears to be about to fight, the responding officer reports the customer was clearly intoxicated but declined to leave, the man was place din protective custody;
11:11 p.m.: accident, Sackett Road, a caller reports a vehicle struck a utility pole and left the area, the responding officer reports the pole was snapped off and the G&E was notified;
11:57 p.m.: suspicious activity, a caller reports intoxicated college aged youths are attempting to open the doors of vehicles, the responding officer reports the caller said that he told youths to get out of his vehicle but no suspects were found;

12:40 a.m.: disturbance, Meadow Street, a caller reports an overly loud group of college aged persons, the responding officer reports he encountered about 40-50 youths at a party and the hosts said that the party got out of hand quickly and their attempts to get people to leave were not taken seriously, the gathering was dispersed;
12:53 a.m.: suspicious activity, Franklin Street, a caller reports a group of 25-30 college aged youths are walking on Franklin Street and breaking items in their path, the responding officer reports a group of about 50 person was dispersed but all denied allegations of vandalism;
1:02 a.m.: suspicious vehicle, Thomas Street, a caller reports that a handicap van is unattended with the wheelchair ramp extended and the door open, the responding officer reports the keys for the vehicle were seized for safe keeping and delivered to the owner in the morning;
5:42 a.m.: accident, Main Road, Montgomery, a Northampton emergency dispatcher requests an ambulance for the operator of a vehicle involved in a roll-over accident, the responding firefighters report they found the groggy operator with a head laceration outside the vehicle and transported her to Noble Hospital;
2:19 p.m.: assist other police department, Westfield State University, 577 Western Ave., WSU police request the use of a cell for a person under arrest, a cell monitor was provided;
3:11 p.m.: accident, Orange Street at Elm Street, a caller reports a truck struck a railroad overpass, the responding officer reports that the 12 foot 7 inch truck struck the 11 foot 5 inch overpass and was towed away from the viaduct;
5:37 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Road, a patrol officer reports he used radar to determine a vehicle was operating at 57 mph in a 40 mph zone, the vehicle was stopped and a criminal complaint was filed;
6:57 p.m.: assist resident, Powdermill Village, 126 Union St., a caller request an officer to keep the peace while a male party gathers possessions at a former friend’s residence, the responding officer reports the man took some of his belongings and was advised to contact the domestic violence coordinator to arrange to go back to get more of his property;
11:28 p.m.: larceny, Elm Street, a caller from a gas station and convenience store reports that a person stole snack items, the responding officer reports he found a suspect who admitted that he had eaten the stolen property, Bryan Joseph Reno, 24, of 97 N. Elm St., was arrested for shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
