Monday, Sept. 24, 2102;
Midnight: motor vehicle violation, Springfield Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating on Springfield Road with only one illuminated headlight and stopped the vehicle, the operator said she had no license and a check confirmed her status, Samantha Mae Sampsel, 25, of 4 Phelps Ave., was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a motor vehicle lights violation;
12:55 a.m.: violation of a protective order, Hillside Road, a resident came to the station to complain that her father has again violated the ‘No contact’ of a protective order by sending her text and e-mail messages, the responding officer reports a warrant application was filed as the suspect is believed to be out-of-state;
5:18 a.m.: assault, Van Deusen Apartments, 42 Arnold Street, a caller said that he had been assaulted, the responding officer reports the caller said that he didn’t know exactly when he was assaulted nor could he describe his assailants but regained consciousness on the floor of the laundry room;
9:50 a.m.: larceny, East Main Street, a resident came to the station to report a larceny from his workplace, the responding officer reports a representative of a rental business said that an inventory revealed that two tablet computers were missing, the case was referred to the detective bureau;
10:47 a.m.: assist other agency, Interim Alternative Education, 12 W. Silver St., a school resource officer reports he transported a boy to his home due to safety and behavioral issues, the boy was surrendered to the custody of his mother;
2:04 p.m.: accident, Springfield Road at East Mountain Road, a caller reports a crash, the responding officer reports that one operator allegedly failed to stop for a red light resulting in a crash, a routine check found that the apparently offending operator’s license had been suspended, Sergey Nemchinsky, 24, of 40 Hemlock St., West Springfield, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license;
2:30 p.m.: larceny, Elm Street, a detail officer reports he was advised of a robbery, the responding officer reports the victim said that a male party had asked him for a cigarette and when he pulled both his cigarettes and his wallet from his pocket the other man grabbed his wallet and fled, the victim said that he chased the suspect who was last seen accessing the railroad right-of-way;
4:08 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store requests an officer for a shoplifter, the responding officer reports an employee said a female party had been seen placing merchandise in a store bag and left the store without making any attempt to pay for the items, the woman was detained and merchandise valued at $325 was recovered, Kathrine A. Kennedy, 23, of 1298 Blandford Road, Russell, was arrested for shoplifting merchandise valued more than $100 by concealing merchandise.
