12:21 a.m.: noise complaint, Mechanic Street, a patrol officer reports he observed 200-300 college aged youths abroad in the Mechanic Street area and observed that the focus of the foot traffic was a Mechanic Street address where there was an open door, the officer reports he observed beer cans and coffee cups were thrown out the door but when he approached the door was closed, the officer reports an arriving couple granted him access and he entered to find about 100 youths in the apartment, the officer reports nobody present was willing to identify the tenant nor did anybody claim to have permission from the tenant to be in the residence, the officer required those present to vacate and after most of them left one of the remaining youths admitted he was the tenant, another person present verbally objected to the officer’s presence and questions as the officer determined that the tenant was younger than the legal drinking age, the second party put himself in the officer’s way as he attempted to take custody of the tenant, Sean K. McKeon, 21, of 38 Fairway Lane, Foxborough, was arrested for resisting the arrest of another, Brandon W. Sheck, 20, of 199 Washington St., Franklin, was arrested for being a person younger than the legal drinking age in possession of liquor, when the officer escorted the tenant to his bedroom to get his identification he observed a marijuana grinder with less than an ounce of marijuana, a city ordinance violation was filed;
8:29 a.m.: assist other agency, Elm Street, a detail officer reports a crane a worker was using to stabilize a wall has fallen as a result of falling bricks, dual response dispatched, see stories in the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of The Westfield News;
9:17 a.m.: found property, Madison Street at Jefferson Street, a caller reports a bike has been abandoned, the responding officer reports the bicycle was transported to the station for safe keeping;
11:40 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Thomas Street, a patrol officer reports a criminal complaint was issued to a motorist for operating a motor vehicle with revoked registration, for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
1:13 p.m.: disturbance, Pontoosic Road, a resident came to the station to report a previous domestic disturbance, the responding officer reports that the complainant said that during an argument after both had been drinking at a party her husband punched her, kicked her and pushed her head into a wall before insisting that she go to bed and standing over her, the woman said she complied due to fear, the woman said that her husband have been physically abusive for five years but she did not complain because she was afraid she would lose her children, the woman said that she spent the night at a relative’s home and when she returned to her home found she was locked out and her husband told her that he is taking custody of their children, the woman was referred to the domestic violence advocate;
2:50 p.m.: animal complaint, West Glen Drive, a caller reports an opossum is in his daughter’s pool, a responding animal control officer reports he removed the opossum;
4:44 p.m.: larceny, West School Street, a resident reported online that a solar light was stolen from her front lawn, the complainant noted that it is the third item stolen from her yard this summer;
6:17 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Little River Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to have been revoked for lack of insurance, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
6:17 p.m.: officer wanted, Hillcrest Circle, a resident came to the station to complain of fraudulently cashed checks, the responding officer reports the man said that his check book had been stolen in October, 2011, and three checks have been cashed;
6:46 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a traffic bureau officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
9:08 p.m.: suspicious activity, Chapel Street, a patrol officer reports he observed two girls pushing a supermarket shopping cart on Monroe Street and advised them that the cart should not be removed from the store’s parking lot, a routine check revealed that one was the subject of an outstanding warrant, Yamilette Lashey Mendez, 17, of 23 Monroe St., was arrested on the warrant;
10:13 p.m.: suspicious person, Powder Mill Village, 126 Union St., an officer reports he learned of the possible location of the subject of an outstanding warrant and sought the man there, Joseph T. Garvey, 29, of 126 Union St. was found and arrested on two warrants without incident;
10:44 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street, a traffic bureau officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard.

1:02 a.m.: annoying phone calls, Elm Street, a resident came to the station to complain that she has received text messages which are vaguely threatening from an unknown caller, the case was referred to the detective bureau;
9:33 a.m.: fraud, Riverside Drive, a resident came to the station to report attempted fraud, the responding officer reports the man said that he received text message purportedly from his credit union asking that he call and when he did he was asked for, and provided, his personal information, the man said that he balked when he was asked for his PIN, the man said that he contacted his credit card company and closed the account;
10:04 a.m.: fraud, Devon Terrace, a resident came to the station to report her credit card was compromised, the responding officer reports the woman said that she learned her card had been compromised when she was advised that it had been used to purchase two online memberships, the affected company refunded the fraudulent charges and asked her to make a police report;
10:53 a.m.: city ordinance violations, East Mountain Road, a code enforcement officer reports he removed illegally posted signs at four locations on East Mountain Road;
11:10 a.m.: assist citizen, Westwood Drive, an elderly woman reports she has locked herself out of her residence, the responding firefighters report entry was made;
1:37 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Susan Drive, a traffic bureau office reports he observed a parked vehicle which was found to have expired registration, the officer reports the plates were seized and the owner was advised to move it off the street into his driveway;
2:07 p.m.: city ordinance violations, East Mountain Road, a code enforcement officer reports he discussed illegally posted tag sale signs with residents staging tag sales on Eastview Drive and Rachael Terrace;
4:11 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street, a traffic bureau office reports he observed a vehicle parked in a municipal parking lot which was found to have expired registration, the officer reports the plates were seized and the owner was advised to move it off the street into his driveway;
5:59 p.m.: larceny, Klondike Avenue, a caller reports her bicycle was stolen overnight, the respond officer reports the victim said that she left her new bicycle outside at her residence and it was stolen overnight;
7:10 p.m.; animal complaint, South Lane, a caller reports two dogs which do not belong to her are in her garage, a responding animal control officer reports he took custody of the two dogs and transported them to the municipal animal shelter;
7:10 p.m.; animal complaint, Mark Drive, a caller reports taking custody of a stray spaniel dog, a responding animal control officer reports he took custody of the dog and transported it to the municipal animal shelter;
7:12 p.m.: disturbance, Cedar Lane, a caller reports his adult son is intoxicated and creating a disturbance, the responding officer reports he spoke with both parties and the younger man said that he was going to sleep in the woods, the man was placed in protective custody;
10:20 p.m.: disturbance, Park Square Townhouse, a caller reports a neighbor is outside yelling, the responding officer reports the person was found and said that he was angry because his electrical power has been interrupted, a check reveled the man to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, Patrick J. Young, 35, of 140 Union St., was arrested on the warrant.
