12:22 a.m.: larceny, Murphy Circle, a caller reports his motor scooter was stolen, the responding officer reports the vehicle was known to be in place about 9 p.m. but was found to be missing about midnight;
12:34 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop for excessive speed, the officer reports the operator’s out-of-state license was found to have been revoked, Anatoliy G. Klyuchits, 21, of 2710 Timacqua Drive, Holiday, Fla., was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and for speeding in violation of special regulations;
2:00 a.m.: accident, North Road, a caller reports a rollover accident, the responding officer reports the operator was not injured and said that he swerved to avoid a deer and struck a tree before the vehicle rolled over;
3:42 a.m.: assist other police department, Westfield State University, 577 Western Ave., WSU police request assistance locating a fugitive suspect, the K-9 unit was dispatched and the fleeing man was apprehended by WSU police, Patrick Gray, 23, of 1865 Wellington St., Dighton, was arrested for assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest, WSU police requested the use of a cell and provided a cell monitor;
4:55 a.m.: noise complaint, Orange Street, a caller reports her adult daughter is playing her music excessively loudly and has refused to lower the volume, the responding officer reports the suspect was unruly and uncooperative, Leslie A. Buschmann, 41, of 67 Orange Street was arrested for disorderly conduct;
7:30 a.m.: breaking and entering, Elm Street, a caller reports his vehicle was broken into overnight, the responding officer reports that nothing is missing from the vehicle and it appears as if someone may have slept in it;
11:32 a.m.: disturbance, Parks and Recreation Department soccer fields, North Road, a caller reports that a soccer mom went onto the field during a children’s soccer game yelling and swearing at the referee and coaches, the responding officer reports a soccer coach said that the mother of one of his players became upset about a situation involving her son and his teammates and verbally accosted him thereby causing a scene in front of the children, the woman was served with a ‘No trespassing’ order;
12:50 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller reports that she left her smartphone in a Springfield Road department store and found it gone when she returned for it, the phone was tracked to a West Springfield location but not found there, Newington, Conn., police subsequently called to report that a person had brought the phone to their station saying that she had found it in her purse and suspects her daughter may have placed it there when they were in the store;
12:58 p.m.: officer wanted, Springfield Road, a caller reports a child has been left unattended in a parked vehicle, the responding officer reports the child’s mother was located and said that she left the child in vehicle for five minutes, video evidence showed that the woman had been ins the store for 28 minutes, the Department of Children and Families was notified;
1:11 p.m.: larceny, Franklin Street, the owner of a Franklin Street business reports that a leaf blower valued at $300 was stolen, the responding officer reports the man said that he left the leaf blower unattended behind his business for about two hours and found it gone when he returned to it;
2:12 p.m.: larceny, Westfield State University, 577 Western Ave., a person came to the station to report his smartphone was stolen, the responding officer reports the man said that he does not know where or when the phone became missing, the phone was tracked to a Meadow Street address but it was not located;
5:32 p.m.: animal complaint, Loomis Street, a caller reports there are about 40 cows in his back yard, the responding officer reports a local dairy farmer was located and advised of the cows, the cows were herded back to their pasture;
6:31 p.m.: disturbance, Franklin Street, a caller reports several persons are fighting, the responding officer reports he encountered a motorist who said that she had seen a male party attempting to instigate a fight and harassing three contemporaries including a young pregnant woman so she stopped and advised the three persons to get into her vehicle to get away from the man, the motorist said that she does not know any of the participants but the man who had been agitating the others followed them into the vehicle and started punching them, Andrew J. Bushey, 24, of 69 Elmdale, West Springfield, was arrested of assault and battery on a pregnant woman and two counts of assault and battery;
7:37 p.m.: larceny, Holyoke Road, a caller reports she rode her bicycle to church and when she left she found that the bike had been stolen;
9:00 p.m.: found property, Noble Street, a patrol officer reports he located two bicycles and transported them to the station for safe keeping, neither of the bikes was the one reported stolen earlier on Holyoke Road;
9:50 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Green Ave., a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to have been revoked for lack of insurance, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
11:34 p.m.: suspicious activity, Boys and Girls Club, West Silver Street, a caller reports four young men are climbing on the roof the club building, the responding officer reports that the youths were on the roof so they could jump to the ground as “parkour” recreation, the youths were advised to stop and were sent on their ways.
