6:52 a.m.: larceny, Belleview Drive, a caller reports his company vehicle was stolen overnight, the responding officer reports the caller said that the keys had been left in the vehicle which he described as looking like a school bus, an officer reports finding the undamaged vehicle parked on Cardinal Lane with the keys in it;
9:19 a.m.: burning complaint, Notre Dame Street, a caller reports smoke, the responding fire captain reports a resident was found to be burning illegally and was advised to extinguish the fire;
9:22 a.m.: accident, North Elm Street, a call reports a vehicle crashed into a building, the responding officer reports the operator lost control and struck a commercial building, the operator was transported to Noble Hospital where she was treated and released;
11:27 a.m.: larceny, Edgewood Apartments, a caller reports her jewelry was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that jewelry valued at about $2,000 was stolen from her bedroom, the victim said that tradesmen had been in her apartment recently;
1:41 p.m.: found property, Elm Street, a person came to the station to surrender a wallet found in a municipal parking lot off Elm Street, the owner of the wallet could not be contacted and the wallet was held for safekeeping;
5:54 p.m.: city ordinance violation, Monroe Street at Chapel Street, a community policing officer reports a couch is on a treebelt, the CP officer reports he spoke with the relevant property manager to have the couch removed, the CP officer reports he took similar action on Charles Street, Jefferson Street and Hampden Street;
6:20 p.m.: narcotics violation, Bullens Field, King Street, an officer at the high school football game reports a check of backpacks and packages revealed that one youth was in possession of a small amount of marijuana, the contraband was seized and a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
7:20 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle bearing plates which were issued to another vehicle, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
8:40 p.m.: city ordinance violation, Bullens Field, King Street Extension, an officer working at the high school football game reports a school official drew his attention to a youth who was smoking a cigarette on school property, the officer reports city ordinance violation citations were issued for smoking on school property and possession of a lighter, the officer reports that school officials will take administrative sanctions;
9:18 p.m.: officer wanted, Lozier Avenue, a caller reports an erratic operator is circling the neighborhood in a vehicle, the dispatcher reports the caller was hard to understand due to a woman screaming in the background, a second caller said that he had been driving down the street when a woman started yelling at him, the man said that he stopped and rolled down his window to greet the woman when she started hitting his Jeep, the responding officer reports a criminal complaint for malicious destruction of property was filed against the woman;
10:17 p.m.: illegal burning, Apple Blossom Lane, a caller reports he can see smoke and sparks from a large bonfire and is concerned the fire is getting out of control, the responding firefighters report the resident was advised of the burning regulations and the fire was extinguished;
10:21 p.m.: assist citizen, Southwood Acres, 342 Southwick Road, a caller reports she and her child are locked out of their home, the responding firefighters report entry was made;
10:43 p.m.: larceny, Northridge Road, a caller reports someone is attempting to steal his neighbor’s boat, see story in the Monday edition of The Westfield News;
10:51 p.m.: liquor law violation, Jefferson Street at Washington Street, a community policing officer reports a liquor law violation, a city ordinance violation citation was filed;
10:58 p.m.: animal complaint, East Mountain Road, a caller reports about eight horses are running loose, a nearby stable was notified and the horses were returned to their paddock;
11:29 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle attempt to turn into an alley from Elm Street which missed the driveway for no apparent reason and struck a utility pole, the officer reports he approached and observed the classic symptoms of alcohol intoxication about the operator who subsequently failed a field sobriety test, the officer reports two small partially full bottles of liquor were found in the vehicle, Michael Douglas Hacia, 23, of 248 Woodland Ave., Bloomfield, Conn., was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation;
11:50 p.m.: liquor law violation, Mechanic Street at Thomas Street, a community policing officer reports a liquor law violation, a city ordinance violation citation was filed;

12:04 a.m.: liquor law violation, Thomas Street at Monroe Street, a community policing officer reports liquor law violations, city ordinance violation citations were issued for being a person younger than the legal drinking age in possession of liquor and for possession of an open container of alcohol in public;
12:14 a.m.: liquor law violation, Thomas Street at Elm Street, a community policing officer reports a liquor law violation, a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
12:31 a.m.: disturbance, Mechanic Street, a caller reports a loud party, the responding officers report about 150 college aged person were found at the indicated address, city ordinance violations were issued to each of the tenants;
1:03 a.m.: assault, Scanlon Hall, Westfield State University, 577 Western Ave., WSU police report the university’s EMS team is treating a male party who was reportedly injured by an assault, the responding officer reports the victim said that he was jumped by multiple assailants who stole his wallet, the officer reports there were inconsistencies in the man’s account and his injuries were consistent with a fall, the man was found to be in possession of his wallet;
1:14 a.m.: liquor law violation, Mechanic Street at Chapel Street, a community policing officer reports a liquor law violation, a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
1:40 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop for a lights violation, the operator was found to be a junior operator driving outside the bounds of the applicable time restrictions, the operator’s father came to take custody of the vehicle;
8:21 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Springfield Road, a traffic enforcement officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and it was towed to the police impound yard;
8:33 a.m.: assist citizen, Westfield State University south parking lot, Western Avenue, WSU police request assistance for a motorist whose keys are locked in a running vehicle, the responding firefighters report entry was made;
9:33 a.m.: found property, King Street, a caller reports a bicycle with damaged wheels was abandoned in front of his home, the responding officer reports the bike was transported to the station for safekeeping;
10:26 a.m.: parking violation, Woodcliff Drive, a caller reports parking on both side of the street due to an estate sale is restricting traffic, the responding officer reports that he posted the south side of the street with temporary “No parking” signs;
12:32 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Union Street, a traffic enforcement officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s license was found to be expired and non-renewable, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
1:14 p.m.: illegal dumping, Dox Road, a caller reports two televisions were dumped on his property, the responding officer reports that the televisions were left on a tree belt, the DPW was notified to remove the derelict televisions;
1:28 p.m.: fire, City View Boulevard, a caller reports as he was passing he observed that bushes and plantings at a City View Boulevard residence were burning so he stopped and extinguished the fire with a garden hose, the responding firefighters report they ensured the fire was completely extinguished, the resident returned and said that he suspects that carelessly discarded smoking materials started the fire;
1:37 p.m.: suspicious persons, Salmon Falls Park, Great River Bridge a patrol officer reports that he and a supervisory officer dispersed a group of youths who had been consuming alcohol on the railroad trestle;
2:05 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street at Mainline Drive, a traffic enforcement officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s license was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
2:27 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Meadow Street, a traffic enforcement officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s license was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
7:13 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Franklin Street at Conner Ave., a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the operator’s license was found to be suspended and he was found to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, Jacob A. Depalo, 22, of 68 Cross Place, Washington, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and on the license, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
10:47 p.m.: liquor law violation, Meadow Street, a community policing officer reports liquor law violations, a city ordinance violation citations were issued to two male parties;
11:52 p.m.: liquor law violation, East Bartlett Street, a community policing officer reports a liquor law violation, a city ordinance violation citations was issued.
