12:53 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Springfield Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a car operating at an excessive speed and stopped it, the operator was found to be unlicensed, Jon C. Esteves, 25, of 34 Brighton St., Springfield, was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and for speeding;
8:17 a.m.: animal complaint, Mill Street, a caller reports an injured rabbit is in her yard, the responding animal control officer reports the rabbit was transported to the animal shelter;
6:29 p.m.: counterfeiting, Elm Street, a caller from an Elm Street gas station reports receiving counterfeit bills, the responding officer reports a customer passed two counterfeit $20 bills, an investigation was initiated;
7:25 p.m.: assault, Powder Mill Village, 126 Union St., a caller reports her son’s finger was intentionally cut, dual response dispatched, the victim was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital, police release no additional information pending the investigation;
8:16 p.m.: larceny, Elm Street, a caller from an Elm Street drug store reports a male party just stole three cases of an energy drink, the responding officer reports that the suspect and the vehicle he left in were described and his investigation is ongoing.
