1:48 a.m.: disturbance, North Elm Street, a caller reports a fight in progress in a bar’s parking lot, the responding officer reported a woman bleeding from a head wound identified her assailant who had struck her forehead with the stiletto heel of a shoe, Anani Akil Abas, 21, of 47 River St., West Springfield, was arrested for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault with intent to maim, see story in the March 27 edition of The Westfield News;
6:21 a.m.: found property, Klondike Avenue, an officer attempted to return a found wallet but reports there was no answer at the door of the owner’s address;
2:37 p.m.: larceny, Orange Street, a caller reports her bicycle is missing, the responding officer reports the victim said that the bike had been locked to her porch before the chain was cut and the bike was stolen;
6:21 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Woodsong Road, a caller reports a vehicle is operating at a high rate of speed and is doing “burnouts,” the responding officer reports the operator was found to be obviously highly intoxicated, Ryan M. Monczka, 22, of 87 Woodsong Road, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violation.
