11:17 a.m.: larceny, a representative of a taxi company came to the station to complain that his company has been repeatedly defrauded by a customer, the responding officer reports he learned that two customers have taken taxis to addresses in Springfield and after paying with a credit card disputed the charge with their credit card company, the victim said that the company was not aware that the customers had disputed about 20 charges until the monthly credit card invoice was received;
10:35 a.m.: hazardous materials, South Broad Street at Bliss Street, a truck enforcement officer reports a routine check of a tanker truck revealed that a valve was leaking and dripping a solution which becomes toxic in the presence of water, the weather was rainy, dual response dispatched and the responding firefighters notified the city’s water department, an empty tanker was dispatched from a Connecticut location to offload the potassium hydroxide in the original tanker which was then towed to a facility to clean and purge it;
3:17 p.m.: fraud, North Elm Street, a resident came to the station to report he was scammed, the responding officer reports the victim said that he had been contacted by phone and was defrauded of several thousand dollars, a report was filed;
5:59 p.m.: breaking and entering, West Silver Street, a caller reports her vehicle was entered and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the woman said that while her unlocked car was parked with open windows her playstation game and her purse were stolen from it.
